My favourite part of all this is how as soon as you say you don't like a console exclusive title you get accused of being a fanboy of the opposite camp. It could NEVER be the fact that you genuinely don't like the game...Nah.

Good and great are two different words. If someone says something is great when it is merely good, then yes, that would be overrated. Halo is overrated. It's not a bad game by any means, but it sure as hell isn't as great as everyone says it is.
Are you talking single player now? Because I got stuck playing Halo 3 about 5 or 6 different times because of my friends all wanting the acheivments...The story line really isn't good or engaging at all. Halflife 2 has a much better story.

If COD 4 was that easy, then you wouldn't have people that constantly have negative kill/death ratios...COD 4 requires a great deal of skill...Halo is a matter of jump, shoot, run, melee, repeat...I loved the customization of the mp and I love the games like Oddball and Rocket Race, but the problem is that way too many people care about Team Slayer and ranking up so not too many people play the fun games...The one thing Halo has that I hope the next COD 4 adopts is the ranking system...You're...
Have you played Legend and Anniversary? From your post it sure as hell doesn't sound like it.
That's my problem with COD4...All of a sudden everyone wants to snipe. On Domination and Headquaters, that doesn't really work too well. Personally I can't snipers in these games because I see them as cowards that want easy kills without the work. But that's just me. So I spend my time with silence weapon, UAV jammer and play "kill the snipers".
The problem here is that there has been next to zero interest after it's initial delay...I see this one being a flop.
I care...Butcher Bay is not only one of the best games on XBOX but one of the best games I've ever played...A remake with current gen graphics is going to be awesome.

Well said and probably the most accurate observation of this situation...Konami is looking at all those other games' #'s and want it to sell that well....If they only sell 3 million copies that game's sales would add up to 180 million dollars. Not all of that money is theirs...They need this thing to sell at least twice that amount. Personally, I would love to see MGS break into the mainstream the way COD 4, Halo and Gears (which are both incredibly overrated), but I honestly don't see it hap...
Where to begin...First of all...It has been reported, ad nasuem, that the restrictions aren't solely based on spoilers. So I ask you, since you're convinced that this is what it's about, what POSSIBLE spoilers could be mentioned by talking about the install time and the cut scene LENGTH (not content, but LENGTH)...I can very easily say "A cutscene in the secon act is 20 minutes long". Not a single plot point or spoiler need to be mentioned.

They're not worried about spoilers. They worried about non MGS fans (many of which own a PS3) not buying the game because they don't want to sit through long cutscenes.
What people seem to be missing when they compare San Andreas to GTA IV. First of all, GTA IV is much more serious/realistic game so all the over the top things from San Andreas had to be diminished. Secondly, San Andreas was the 3rd game in the engine so by that time, Rockstar discovered shortcuts to code so they could impliment more features. This is the first GTA for this generation. By the 3rd time they go this road, they'll be able to load as much as San Andreas into it.

I only started playing XBOX LIVE last may with Rainbow Six Vegas...What a way to get spoiled. I made a lot of "friends" on that game merely because teamwork was key and everyone wanted to win. Sure you had people that wanted kills and such but as long as we won, that worked for everyone. I expected everyone to excercise that level of communication in every game. Well, boy was I wrong.

Ahh...The 360 Controller...I knew it would be #1. And I knew that there would be some Sony fanboy crying foul saying the Dual Shock 3 should be tops instead. Call of Duty 3 was a solid game. The MP was actually really, really good too. Think about these 3 things. 1- Treyarch had 9 months to make the game...They started work on this one immediately after completing 3 so that means this one will have been worked on for 2 years. 2-They're using the COD 4 engine and 3- It's supposed to be the Pacific Theatre.
