If im playing on the couch a ps4 or xbox have much better controllers and provide a better experience. I use my switch when i would travel and the lack of a proper d pad is insanity. The hori dpad joycon is trash.
Rockstar games are unplayable messes due to over the top animations, poor response, and in general play like ps2 games and they still get 10s.

Not at all. But it should be mentioned in the article that there is a windows update dependency required for the functionality. Quality journalism would include those details. But this is N4G.

Most people I see writing artciles about this seem to have zero clue about the software development lifecycle, especially using agile methodologies. Crunch is not usually a result of poor management. It certainly can be. Whether its the end of a dev cycle, QA system testing crunch always happens. The same should be said for rockstar. Both showing their age from a mechanics, control, and gameplay standpoint.
Ok. I will play. So what about bethesda and their xonstant glitchy games. Fpr years they got a pass because of the scope of the game, until fallout r came out and people qere sick of it.
In the case of rockstar they have done nothing to evolve the controls and game mechanics and it still plays like a ps2 game and people are cool with it becausw the hoese nuts shrink and grow with the temperature.
Its not overwhelming, its boring. The lengths fans will go to justify a boring game because its rockstar is not suprising however. But any other cowboy simulator that is essentially an average waling simulator and a poor 3rd person cover shooter would get absolutely destroyed.
I think as a fan it's fine to look at it this way. But if you were paid to be a critic, don't you think critics should have to consider those things when reviewing games?
