and grand turismo is doing this while still processing their game as a real driving simulator, its not just about photo real cars. A car is far easier to render than a human.
Does every person on this site always find something to complain about. I am a ps3 owner, I have sedpised MS since getting into consoles, hell you could even call me a sony fanboy, but my god a game that is a year old with minor upgrades still pulled an 8.4 with the competition that is out there and people are complaining. WTF
I do agree it should be $40 or $50 purchase at this point, but at the same time, as gamers with as long as the consoles have been out, you could easily a...
Someone please explain why people are still complaining about the lack of backwards compatibility. If you have ps2 games chances are you have a ps2, tv's these days have plenty of inputs so hook the damn thing back up. The ps3 has been out for three years now, anyone now purchasing one couldn't give a F if it doesn't have backwards compatibility, its only used in dumb flame wars on the message boards.
I have to give you a bubble for saying I couldn't care less. It drive me buts when people say I could care less. Oh really, you could care less? lol. I know the term was derived from "I could care less if I cared at all" but used stand alone it is I couldn't care less. Its right up there with irregardless and wholenother, as in wholenother story. That one might be a midwest thing though.
I agree completely, but I don't know how mush they can really tie it in to the network, the only thing that Sony really controls is the store. Other than that the online gaming is up to the game companies since son'y has an open network, this is why it's free.
Companies like EA for example would need to tie home into say Madden, if the lobbies were in home, with mini games, maybe some old school classic or something, then that might be something I would try, but I would also li...
People look so deep into this, both Activision speaking out an EA are typical PR moves, win win for both.
1. Activision head say something dumb gets put all over the internet, each article mentions Modern Warfare 2 and their previous games=Win even if Sony does not drop the price.
2. Activision head say something dumb gets put all over the internet, each article mentions Modern Warfare 2 and their previous games=Win Sony drops the price bigger install base more sa...
I will start off by saying I did not read the article or watch the video so this might not apply, but to answer the headline question, no.
I only own a PS3, I do not use home, I do not find it useful and I do not enjoy using it, except for times I get drunk and just pick people out and follow them around, for some reason drunk or high, it is hilarious.
But at the same time people do use it, Sony has the sales numbers as far as home accessories and can adjust budget...
Is anyone else sick of every game getting multi-player. First I rarely play any games multi-player, I like my game because ofstory and engagement. Second I imagine if you are a fan of multi-player that this market saturation would have a negative impact, the more game with MP the less people playing each. You can only play one at a time.
God Damn, does everyone need to define themselves by the things they own. One is not better for the other, one may be better for others and that decision is left to the consumer purchasing the product. I like my ps3, my friend likes his xbox, both of us for different reasons. Look at the reasons, purchase the console, shut the f*ck up and enjoy.
I actually agree with him. Obviously this opinion is very subjective but in the case of metal gear the cut scenes did not do it for me. When I am playing a game I want to be playing a game not watching it. On the opposite side I absolutely loved the story telling in uncharted, but it was obviously not as overwhelming as MGS4. As fantastic as MGS4 is, i almost felt that they tried to squeeze to much story into one game and the cut scenes felt forced upon me rather than a natural progression...
My God, who the hell writes these things? First the PS3 is doing fine. Second, why gamers seem to care about the business side so mush this Gen I fail to understand. Finally, doesn't everyone on this site get sick of arguing about the same things everyday?
Do you understand how most online websites shipping process works? Larger websites drop ship from multiple warehouses. Before coming up with the total quantity they enter into database many factors are accounted for before setting that number.
If word of mouth is best for you that is great, as well as the demographic that i'm sure is primarily on this website, but the gamers online will find the games. The point is to find the people that don't have their ear on the industry. ...
Everyone knows the ps3 plays games, I think its a great marketing decision to run a limited production ad promoting the other benefits of a ps3.
Do you know what it costs to advertise in the superbowl? Will sony have a commercial? Maybe. Will it be a playstation only commercial? Doubtful. For companies with one major product and crazy marketing budgets along with a reputation to uphold the superbowl advertising is a must. At the end of the day I imagine the money would be better spent elsewhere for Sony.
Do you have numbers to support that statement?
Apparently psxextreme.com has access to Sony's projected sales numbers as well as advertising costs to get an accurate return on investment. Sony should fire their marketing department right away and hire psxextreme.com. You would think Sony only sells consoles. There is a reason that you don't see larger sites posting articles like this, because they have overhead. These small sites being run on minimal overhead will never get larger if they don't understand a business concept as simple...
Its the constant comparison articles like this that made me realize that the internet and blogs has ruined the gaming community. It really is no longer a community, it a bunch of people with there own agenda arguing over things that really don't matter. When did gamers quit liking game and decide technical accomplishments were more important than game enjoyment and fun factor?
The one thing to consider is these ps2 emulators are being made most likely as hobbies or out of determination. I'm sure sony's engineers can pull it off but if it doesn't make sense money wise, i don't see a reason they would invest the time or money. Hell the ps2 is still selling alone, the people buying the ps2 probably don't care about the ps3 right now, and those that have ps2 games should still have their ps2.
Although I don't have numbers, again considering its a business I am sure it boils down to return on investment. This would/could also include support for those feature as well.
Also, why the hell is this article titled Why your ps3 doesn't have backwards compatibility" but never address the headline at hand? Quality journalism.
Coming in late to this, but it seems people will associate bright colors and resolution to better graphics. To be completely honest I think GT looks much more realistic, but they both look awesome. Even though they are both racing games GT is really a simulation in the end so graphics are only a part of it. Its the flight simulator of driving. It can't be touched when it comes to realism and gameplay,
