Most Sim Racers are not using VR. The article doesn't mention any comparison to Assetto Corsa which this would be more of a competitor to than iRacing. There is literally no context on to why it's a challenger, other than "they are making it better"
It has a hell of a way to go to get to the community that Assetto has.
Two things can be true here.
1. Even with a 5090 I still lean into DLSS.
2. That said, leaning on hardware as an excuse not to optimize better is lazy.
He speaks as if uncharted and last of us had good gameplay. The actual gameplay has always been mediocre, but the story telling, environments, pacing, basically everything else is best in class. So if they can keep all of that and include gameplay then we are in for a good one.
