Have to look at Hollywood movies to see the pinnacle of computer graphics (Avatar, The Avengers, etc.). It will be MANY years before powerful supercomputers have the ability to render those type of graphics in real-time. Much less the most powerful home PCs, and even less, consoles. Then, you have to think about the fact that even that CG from the movies will be improved as years go on (for movies).
Elizabeth seems like she will end up being an iconic character. Can't wait for this game.
I'm pretty sure it's about games revealed or known to be coming to PS4. The FF one is a little different, since, while it WAS shown, it was just a tech demo (but would love a FF game that looks like that with more freedom than XIII).
If the list was just about most wanted in general, I have a feeling it would be very different.
Agreed. Tomb Raider was awesome. The writer of the article agreed with that. A good game is a good game. There are TONS of new IPs that aren't any good.
I'm not sure why the author brings up movies, because the comparison is dissimilar enough that it's not applicable. Not to mention, movie remakes are worse than the original at a MUCH higher rate (at least 90%).
Don't get me wrong, I love delving into a new franchise that's of good ...
I found the Nicole Brennan one from Deadspace funny, for how stupid it is. Seriously? A survival horror game? There is nothing from the game to hint at, or would make it believable that she didn't just die after seeing her first monster. What a great game that would make.
To be honest, I can't see ANY of these 10 characters getting a full game of their own, and there is a reason they aren't the main character in their respective game. DLC is as far as I could...
Tomb Raider was too good to pass up. Would strongly recommend it, even if you have to wait for a good sale. But I agree in that this (Bioshock) is definitely the biggest game on my list till The Last of Us.
There is so much history for Squenix to draw on, that I still want to see them make a new FF (imagine a FF game that looks as good as the Luminous Engine demo with the gameplay of past FF glory). What they need to do is get away from the stupid sequels.
If you discount the spin-offs (which is what I consider the FFXIII sequels) and FFXIV (like I discount FFXI since they are so different from the series, like FF Tactics), they've really only made one bad (well, bad for a ...
I don't think it's better than Uncharted (about on par with the first, not as good as 2 or 3), however I would agree that it's the best game of 2013 so far. Of course, it's only March.
Still, pleasant surprise that the game ended up being so much fun. Didn't expect to like Lara as a character so much, since I never really did in the past (liked the games, but nothing special about her). They really did a good job with her as a character, and they made...
It will be a LONG time before we reach the limit of graphics. Think of something like Avatar, or more recently, The Avengers (look up what is done with CG in the movie, it's unreal...all of New York in that last battle is CG). It will be a LONG time before even the most powerful super-computers can run a game that looks like those in real-time, much less a very powerful PC, and even less so, consoles.
Well, they don't stock them because 99% of AO games are porn/hentai games. Can't imagine Walmart selling porn.
If Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop (they might sell it), Amazon (they might sell as well), etc. don't sell the game it definitely WOULD be a kiss of death to the game.
W2 was a bit short, but I did like that it was an open world game that had focus.
While I like Skyrim, the game (and series, as with most open world games) had a very mediocre story because they felt compelled to leave everything so open-ended.
I think the biggest problem that developers have when making an open world game (apart from technical) is they think they have to make it seem completely open. The problem is that until we have much more advanced, f...
While I would like many/most of the games you listed, Dark Cloud is the only one with a better than below-average chance of being made (probably the one I would want the most anyway, along with Persona 5).
Sadly most of the other games either didn't sell well enough, or don't have the name recognition, or haven't been out for so long that there is little chance.
Dragon Force, my favorite Saturn game, was awesome, but sadly the second game (never r...
Yeah, I though FFVII ending was pretty good. It wasn't FFVI quality, but it was still good.
The problem with this list is that there are thousands of games with pretty much no ending at all. Maybe the list should have been "Most Disappointing Endings," since a short, slightly uninformative ending is better than a flat "The End."
Yeah, certain games that refuse to stand out will hopefully see their downfall. There are still plenty of good FPS games/series though. Far Cry 3 and Borderlands 2 being fairly recent examples. Both great games, but not standard FPS mediocre/bad games.
I would include Crysis, but that series is steadily getting worse, focusing far more on graphics and selling their engine than atmosphere, gameplay and story.
The first Bioshock game is still one of the be...
While I liked Dark Cloud 2 better, DQVIII was indeed one of the best. Great news if true, as it's always good for great games to gain new life, possibly for people that didn't get a chance to play it originally.
I don't completely disagree or anything, but freedom of speech doesn't apply to an employer-employee relationship, nor should it. Unless you think an employee should be able to say whatever he/she wants to their boss and the boss, by law, be unable to reprimand them for it.
I would say this was a business decision on the part of the employer(it's likely, even if the guy quit, he was pushed to do so for his own benefit), in that if the employee was giving bad pres...
Sooo... if this goes for sale, wonder how many purchases it will get because people think it's a porno game? =P
There is a lot you can skip in the game each day (big mistake for story purposes, but still...). I would say you can cut the game time in half by skipping that stuff and just progressing the main storyline and skipping the relationship parts (again, big mistake for anyone that hasn't played it yet).
I don't remember how long P4 took me, since it's been a few years (time to play it again on Vita). Pretty sure it was way over 40 hours though (just a guess, but t...
@JellyJelly
Final Fantasy Tactics was one of those games that was really difficult or really easy, depending on how much you level up and who you use (really, that's true of most FF, or really most JRPG games). Yes, Orlandu was vastly overpowered, but with the right build, Ramza was even stronger. If you didn't over-level and didn't use Orlandu, the game could actually be quite difficult. One of my favorite games.
While it's a pretty bold statement to make, I think Elizabeth is the best new character of the generation (or at least top 3, up there with Nathan Drake). I'm not saying Bioshock Infinite is the best game of the generation (although it's very very good), but Elizabeth was nearly perfectly done as a character and the AI.
