Every time I log into the Home Square, for some unknown reason everyone decides to place the newly added (and annoying) bubble machines right in the doorway. Framerate drops almost immediately, and doesn't clear up until you walk away or enter a new area of Home.
If everything crashed, it was probably the user amount & bubble machines combined.
I think everyone knew going into GDC that Microsoft was the company who had to prove it's worth this year, and they did. At most from Sony I expected a Home updated and the same with In-Game-XMB.
With Home I was forwarded the knowledge that the Home BETA (Which I've been enrolled in since last July) will be updated to 0.834 or whatever, which means it's two more updates away from launch (Try April/May launch). With that update we also get the Home Store and tons of new features. ...
It's all in the title
They'd tell major retailers to push the Playstation 3 as their top Blu Ray player.
Same Price Point (Also the cheapest)
Easiest to Update (Firmware)
Best Overall Performance
I guess a player is a player though...
1) Socom Confrontation - I'll agree with them. Not because people have forgotten about the franchise but because Slant Six has so much to clean up after Socom 3/Combined Assault that allot of people have doubted them. I think online only is a great concept and can only lead to cleaner game play. As for moving systems, you better believe it. I know of at least 30-40 people right now (All old Socom clan members) that are waiting to buy a Playstation 3 the day Socom comes out.
2) i...
*Keep in mind I'm a Playstation 3 owner ONLY, no 360*
Over the past few years GDC has definitely taken a liking to by the average user. Almost all big name game-sites cover the event live, and the consumer feeds off of the keynotes. That way that don't have to scramble for what they want, everything big is announced right there. GDC was monumental last year for Sony, and the momentum carried them right into a successful E3. This year's story will be a little different.
Sure singing would probably be a hassle, but their songs are amazing. I thought for sure Guitar Hero would include some extras, maybe even Killing in the Name of from Guitar Hero 2, but still nothing. My hopes banked on Rock Band, and if this list proves to me true, I'll remain sad ...

One of the stupidest comments I've read in ahwile.
I could care less about this article because its a rumor, because it's probably centered around one or two stores, and because it's flame bait.
What I'll argue is that the 360 will not even outsell GTA IV 2:1 over the Playstation 3 in terms of global sales. Sure Microsoft has "exclusive episodes" and I'm sure they'll market the hell out of them, but people need to remember that the GTA series is still Sony'...
This isn't a "great decision" or a "business strategy" this is a cry for help from Microsoft, and, if you ask me one of their last in the Japanese market.
The reason for this isn't because the 360 has had dismal sales until this point, or to gain momentum going further into 2008, it's to compete WITH Sony and the Playstation 3. Why? Because Sony games, cross-platform or exclusive sell better than 360 games in Japan.
Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) outsold t...
1) Sony will not only announce a new 120-160GB SKU, it will also come bundled with the Dualshock 3 and come in White & Silver colors.
2) Along with the introduction of the new SKU, it will be announced that it will still have the $499 price tag as the 80GB had. This after production costs were cut in half along with introducing a smaller Cell chip, which also reduces cost. Because of this...
3) Sony will drop the 40GB to $299. I dont know when, but they will. If...
So this article comes as no surprise.
The thing that I question is HDD space, and whether or not the rumors were true that Sony plans on introducing a new 120-160GB sku. If this article turns out to be true, I think they'd be left with no other option
The Sega Genesis was my first gaming console and it lasted me above until above and beyond 1998. By the time it started to grow old, I moved on to my Sega Dreamcast. I got a full 2-3 months play out of it before they discontinued it, leaving me for a Playstation 2 (which obviously turned out the better). Since then, it just seems as if Sega really got over its hump.
The software titles they developed were very mediocre, and to me it just seemed like they were still suck in that ...
Most of the information that's been released centers around most of the same things:
1) Huge bosses
2) 60 Player online matches
3) Invisible Enemies
4) 3 Different Classes
5) Etc.
Not that I'm complaining, because I absolutely loved Resistance, but it kind of makes you wonder just how much more information Sony & Insomniac are ready to spill come GDC.
The point I'm getting at is just what else can they announce to get the pub...
Instead of developing from the 360 and then porting to the Playstation 3, start with the Playstation 3 and port to the 360. It was the first EA title to have equal scores since the launch of the Playstation 3.
Either way, like predator stated, most developers are getting used to both consoles, so it there shouldn't be a difference.
I think most people have known that the Playstation 3 has been the best performance Blu Ray player since launch. Now that the price is down, and will continue to go down, sales will increase steadily. It's also the easiest to manage in terms of Firmware updates.
The only problem is that the average consumer sees the Playstation 3 as a "gaming console" and nothing more.
"this has more to do with Toshiba than Microsoft. MS only provided the codec... even though they back them, they don't have much stake in it."
I'm thinking more in terms of the console war. Microsoft has been pushing HD-DVD from the start, they've said numerous times that Blu Ray doesn't make a difference in terms of Games or Movies, and soon they'll have no other option but to go Blu Ray.
It's simple. Abandon HD-DVD now before it's officially over and save...
Insomniacs strides in development for the Playstation 3 have been phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal.
What they've managed to do based upon storytelling, characters, game play, and visuals are signs that Developers just need to put time and effort into their work to achieve great things on any hardware unit, no matter how difficult it is.
It also brings closure to the debate on how to make the development process easier. To use an third party engine, or to develop th...
It's no longer about the victory for Sony, the Playstation 3, or the Blu Ray camp, it's now about when Microsoft is finally going bail out on backing HD-DVD. It's a sinking ship and if they stay on it any longer, it could bring disaster to the MS front.
The consumers have spoken, the studios have spoken, and now the two biggest rental companies have spoken. Blu Ray is the winner.
The balls in Microsofts hands now. Hopefully they'll know what to do with it
"do u really think the wii can handle MGS lol its not powerfull kindom of hearts maybe but it aint gone happen cuz im sure sony has that looked up in the exclusivety department"
Do I think the Wii can handle MGS4 as it is now? Absolutely not. But after a few months on the market, if Playstation 3 sales are sub-par Konami will definitely look to port it to other consoles, and based on the 360 install base in Japan, the Wii would ultimately be the front runner, judging on...
Question 1)
Do the bubble machines serve a purpose or are they just for fun?
A1) No, no purpose at all. Obviously Sony wanted to show off more water effects (waterfalls and ponds everywhere aren't enough I guess)
Question 2)
If they are causing so much trouble would it take away from the experience of HOME just to remove them?
A2) Serious question? No. The bubbles do nothing. If they took them away, I don't think most people would even notice...
