9/10 is pretty much what's expected from a title of this magnitude. I mean if you look at it, Guerilla had no excuse not to come away with a title this great. With 4 years of development, help from other Sony studios, and I'm guessing some cash, anything lower than a 9 would be a faile if you asked me.
However the one thing I'll disagree with, and with most of the reviews I've read, is the storyline being docked for being "average" or "typical". While it may...
Is that I'm willing to bet "MattG" didn't even have a hands-on with the game..
So why would you write an article talking about your opinion of a game you haven't played.
It's like "HEY LETS LOOK AT THIS PICTURE AND COMPARE IT TO THAT PICTURE AND SEE WHICH GAME IS BETTER"
If you guys want some real info on the game check out 1UP's most recent ListenUp podcast where Garnett and John talk about their HANDS-ON VISIT and impressions....
inFamous
The Agency
WKC
Heavy Rain
Uncharted 2
Ratchet & Clan Future 2
Then in 2010 bring on:
Gran Turismo 5
God of War 3
FFXIII
M.A.G.
That'll be good enough for me
No pre-review "gift baskets" and no money.
Just post-launch cupcakes and celebration.
:)
1) This is why N4G should eliminate blogs/uncredibal sources, it'd bring the rumors WAY down
2) Thank god.
-Most of all the information that was "leaked" (lol) sucked. No P90? Vehicles? No innovation.
Hopefully IW will grace us with some information prior to E3. July is such a long way away (or June?)
Yeah but when I say "The 1 year launch difference" is the reason for almost everything, I mean it.
Microsoft had a 1 year heads start with everything: Developers, Marketing, System failures (upgrades), XBL, etc - while developers felt comfortable with it being the only system a majority of them were working on, and most importantly the install base.
By the time Sony came in with a $600 price tag, a system developers were unframiliar with, and an obvio...
"Maybe micro just has had a overall better gameplan than sony thus far...."
--> Or maybe Microsoft launched a year earlier than it's major competition, giving consumers only 1 option at the time to play a "next gen" console.
"you say its because of price I say its because micro made a console focused on gaming, without expensive features that weren't needed that will ultimately give micro the price advantage this entire console genera...
And for people who are pumped about vehicles, I ask you to think about what happened to Socom 3 when vehicles were introduced...Completely ruined the gameplay. Then again, I don't know how IW plans to incorporate them into the level design, but all I remember in S3 were people aborting mission objectives in favor of running people over.
- Ugh, P90 was a great gun, so just because most of you got owned with it (probably mostly from me too), doesn't mean you have to cry about it....
1) (And this is just personal opinion), I don't hate HHG for liking Sony or Microsoft or any of that. In fact I don't hate him or his site at all, I choose to ignore it everytime. It's almost as if all his writers read N4G and whatever get's the most hits, they spin it -repost their own article on the same subject- and go for more. And if that's what he thinks he needs to do to become well established then good luck :)
It may work on getting N4G fanboys fired up over the consol...
And when Lost Planet debuted on the 360,I really wanted to play it. Then the port came and...
Let's just say I don't care about Lost Planet 2.
Is that I never really have a WANT to play it, but when I do, it's so rewarding.
I dont know. I just feel as if when I put a AAA title into my system to play (Socom, Fallout 3, MGS4, Soon to be Killzone 2), I need to WANT to play it. I can't just go into a game of that magnitude just because I'm bored, and that's where games like Noby Noby and Flower are perfect.
You (I) don't have to have any feelings going into it because when your finished they'll all be ther...
That's weird...
Probably Socom or Socom II. My handle for those games were Red |)ragon.
Either that or maybe from GB.
Or maybe we actually know each other............Wierd........
And it still hasn't gotten played once yet.
Maybe this will get me to start playing
Zipper.
Socom, like it or not, pretty much singlehandedly put the PlayStation 2 on the map in terms of online gaming.
Can't wait to see what they have in store for us with M.A.G.
Stephen Totilo and Patrick Klepek are pretty well respected journalists...Some of this "every reviewer is bias" talk is getting waaaayyyyyy out of hand.
Maybe some of you should actually attempt reading the article to realize that he knows his review wouldnt be up to standards if it was reviewed by another journalist with SF background/talent.
I have the PSP version and I'm totally going to pick up the PS3 version now.
Trophies, Sega Classics, Revamped Graphics = Win
"ok then show me an article that has the "advantages" of the 360 over the ps3"
- I never said the 360 had an advantage over the PS3 though, mostly because I think it doesn't have one...(Read my next comment and you'll understand why)
"this year will be different bc the 360 will be $200 the WHOLE year : )"
- Now I understand if you never took a Buisness class in College, or even HS for that matter, but you need to under...
Chalk up another win for the good guys
The only thing that saddens me is that the PS3's price blinded people from all the great games that came out earlier.
Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted, Pixel Junk Titles, Warhawk, etc. etc. etc.
Killzone 2 is going to start the unslaught of people making the jump. Not only because it's a great game, but because it shows non-PlayStation 3 owners there's a shooter BETTER than anything on their console.
So I guess the question is, what'll top Kill...
bummed :(
