Why the CHL gets hype over the NCAA, it's nothing new, but a lot of people underestimate NCAA hockey and just how many stars in todays game are from there (Pavelski - WI, Toews - ND, Miller - MI ST, Heatley - WI) etc...
Plus for states like mine (Wisconsin) where we can't get an NHL team, the Badgers are all we got. CHL + NCAA would be a win/win for NHL 11 in general. Definitely worth the upgrade IMO
NHL remains the only sports franchise I play anymore. NHL 11 is gonna be hot, especially if they get those NCAA teams.

I still have my Dreamcast plugged in right now. Popped in THPS1 like 3 weeks ago. LOVED the system. And tbh, was real bummed when the first articles said they were 360 exclusive. Glad to see they might be making their way to the PS3 as well.
I wonder how much they'll charge? I'm hoping $15 max, prefer $10. And I doubt I'll get trophy support too but that would make $15 or higher a non issue haha
Last Bastion was, IMO, the best map I think I've ever played. Sadly, it was only available to HDD owners at the time + you had to find it in OPM, but very worth it. Lots of SOCOMers missed out on the entire experience.
Come to think of it, all of the S2 DLC maps were very good.
but I was a 2 way/all conference starter in HS football since my Sophmore year and I didn't play my senior year because I sat on SOCOM 2 alllllll summer and skipped off season workouts. The game was ridiculously addicting, and probably still by far the game I've logged most hours on in my lifetime thus far.
That said I don't want Zipper to try and copy S4 or try to replicate it to match S2, I want it to be it's own game, but Zipper should without a doubt inco...
At least not in the gaming scene. I thought Avatar's 3D was impressive, and I was blown away by the tech, but in the recent Weekend Confirmed podcast Garnett Lee was talking about lots of small things going wrong w/ the Killzone 3, 3D presentation. If you look away the glasses need to resync when you look back, you need to be in a direct line of sight to see the 3D effect, so others wouldn't be able to see it standing, little annoying things. (They liked Killzone 3 a lot btw)

I get that it won't be the best addition for casual NHL players, but it's huge for others. And it makes perfect sense, obviously an NCAA game couldn't release on its own.

Having the "resources" has nothing to do with your name brand being able to connect w/ consumers. The past decade has been dominated by Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo. It would take more of a big name to get back into the console race (Apple, SEGA, etc). And even then the company would almost be forced to spend more money and resources on publicity alone than hardware and software.

There are a bunch of games on 360 I want (Gears, Fable, Mass Effect, etc) but I could just never push myself to spending the money on it. Another price cut and I'll probably pick one up.
I don't own a 360, and I'm more of a 'Move' guy, but this seems way overpriced. I know MS has a history of overpricing accessories but I think they know it's got to be cheaper than $200 to compete with the Wii/Move.

I have no problem with Sony adding the pay for extra slots thing. If you want it, pay the $1. If not, take the minute it takes to change one of the old layouts.
Also, I'd LOVE new modes for MAG. It's the one reason why I don't play it more, is that I just get sick of the same maps. However, there's no way I'd pay $12.99 for just 1 new game mode. A few weeks ago I could've gotten Flow, Flower & TMNT Reshelled for almost the same price.

Ill agree with you on the Halo comparison. They are about as complete opposites as you can find out there.
However, SOCOM both on the PS2, and even with Confrontation does things BETTER than any other shooter has to this day. In PS3 terms (console I prefer) I owned every COD, both Resistance titles, Killzone, UT3, MAG, pretty much every shooter available on the system and I have yet to play a game where communication and strategy pretty much determine the outcome of a game.
