with you assessment of the situation. However, I think that the ps3 manage to sell 337k in it's worst territory says alot. I think we're going to see a price cut for the 360. I personally have already purchased (3)Xbox360s but still have my only ps3 since 2007.
notion. It looks like something that could be a real hit no matter the region you're in. This would be a great psvita/ps3 game that when you want to you pick up where you left off on the go.
Congrats Sony. This just proves, if people can afford it, they'll buy it. However you look at it, it's a damn fine job considering US is their weakest territory. I think though contrary to what MS/Sony are saying, we're going to hear about the new systems this year.
I'm sorry but I'm not interested at all in the new Devil May Cry. He looks too much like Edward Cullen from Twilight aka Robert Patterson. He's already over saturated enough. I don't need him in my damn video games too.
Yeah i was thinking the same thing. I look like COD MW2 with an extreme graphical upgrade. Tisk Tisk EA
I wish they would offer most games like that. I mean I haven't touched Killzone3's single player since I bought the game. While slightly disappointed with the direction they went in with the MP, i still enjoyed it. This can also combat the used games market.
It's only by 265,000 units over Sony's home console ps3. I wouldn't exactly call that being a significant margin. Then again these numbers aren't 100% accurate. NPD monitors USA, Media Create monitors JP, and there isn't currently anyone monitoring EU. But the trend is that Sony products tend to perform better over there than the other competition.
I can finally pick up my vita. But I can't help but think Sony needed to have an LTE option. Espicially since 4g isn't better then DSL @Home. But then again you can't buy a 4g hot spot and use it like that. COD on the go. Can't get any better than that.
That the cell is dated but this is the 45nm version. I don't why they can't knock the size down to 32nm or even 22nm and clock it at around 4.5GHz. Now regarding AMD vs NVidia, the 7980 is $550.00 and the GTX680 is $500.00. If you look at some of the benchmarks out there the GTX680 beats out the 7980 in almost everything. Also they are using launch drivers with the new kelper cards.
Get some disagrees but I'm still saying that Sony is going to stick with Nvidia. I'm not buying into this whole "They're switching to AMD" rumors out there. I honestly, don't think they're going to scrap the CELL. To me that would be the best way to keep costs down. IT also seems most developers are familiar with it by now anyway.
Each and every person has what we like to call "free will". What might be emotionally moving to one person, may be considered dull to the next. MGS story was considered great by many including myself. I enjoyed Heavy Rain and felt that David Jaffe's take on Greek mythology was sublime. Or am I only being disagreed with because I fail to mention any 360 titles?
Clarified the tech demo was to showcase the MO-cap engine that they have been working on. You can't call it a movie since it was running in real-time on the ps3 under the GAME engine. As far as narrative, why do people think God of War and the Uncharted series are so successful? Cutscenes are needed to carry the player from level one to level two. But I do think all cutscenes should be interactive that way it doesn't pull the player out of the experience.
I Heavy Rain was suspenseful and that "Kara" tech demo definitely proved that games be emotionally powerful. My wife thought it was a television show.
It's not too different from the pc. Any jailbreak can allow you to install apps from your sdcard. Another thing would be a lack of physical media (Remember OnLIVE was suppose to kill consoles). Usually more expensive than consoles
In the beginning of it's life cycle it did. Since I still have the 60gig I can say without a doubt that it plays ps2 games. Ps2 software is being made anymore and the ps3 library was already pretty substantial. The Xbox360 did also. I'm not saying it going to support it all the way through it's lifecycle but around the launch window, I'm pretty sure it will.
The 60gig was hardware BC
The 40gig/etc was software based BC
The Xbox360 was software...
I don't see why not. It has been a long tradition with playstation consoles being about to play their older counterparts games. It's also about of that 10 year life cycle we keep hearing so much about. Another big reason is because there is never a large amount of game to choose from during launch. Halo2 was the most played game on the 360 for 9 months straight after 360's release.
I highly doubt that Sony is abandoning the Cell for this simple reason. Even til this day is still one of the fastest processors out there. If you also look at the Piledriver from amd and Ivybridge from Intel, their essentially setting themselves up to be like the Cell. It's much more cost effective then outsorcing it.
Regarding the statement about the ps4 being more like a PC. I would like to go and correct them a bit. PS3 still has a GPU and CPU. Sony just partially ach...
Gear of war 3 supports 3d. I just bought the Sony 55HX929 and I've only been playing Gears3 in 2d. Meanwhile, I've played Killzone3 in 3d and it was quite an experience. About to go try out that 3d in Gears3.
I bought a 360 last year around holiday time and now it's just sitting there collecting dust. I only bought Gears 3 for it. I let my 4yr old play. I'm been playing on my ps3 way more.
God of war 3 was released in 2009. His point was compared to Halo/COD you really can't call this milked. I personally think this put Clash of Titans to shame, well at least the first film.
