I don't agree with your "death switch" trigger. I'm still rocking my 60gig fat ps3 that I bought in 2006. Unlike the Xbox 360 which i am now on my third one. I think a price cut is needed simply because the wii u will probably debut at $300.00. Sony can offer a cheaper and almost identical experience to the wii u.
my launch ps3 so it was a good buy in my case. But like I mentioned before. I really think the graphical leap is going to have to be pretty significant otherwise asking people to cough up $500-$600 would seem naive.
you. I don't understand why you have disagrees. Next gen wont launch until 2014. I'm sure both Microsoft/Sony will show off the next systems @ E3-2013. But I sure these systems won't come to market until 2014 which is in line with the Maxwell Gpu. If the graphical leap isn't that big, then there really is no justification for buying a newer system. This is what going to happen with the Wii U.
I actually think ps3/xbox360 are waiting on the launch of the Wii U. They want to gauge the success of the it to see if your assessment is correct. PC is still nowhere in the ballpark of consoles because the games are too easily pirated and cards tend to run alot higher than a game console. Also most of the games release on pc are multiplatforms that don't show an huge leap from consoles.
If you only have 60 bucks to spend on a game you have to choose. Last year it was gears. This year it's Halo4. Really none of this matter because COD numbers multiplat numbers are out pace any exclusive out there. BF3 too. But quality wise, it really goes to Sony.
It's the only reason I have a 360 in the first place. Well Gears 3 (only game i own on 360). You can't really count Kinect adventures because it came bundled with Kinect. Also you 360 has far less exclusives to choose from.
God of war for the story. The gameplay and graphics are just icing on the cake.
"...even if the number of games shown favored Microsoft." Yeah because they showed all exclusives. Get real 1up. They showed mostly multiplatform games as if they were only on Xbox360. Call of duty, Madden13, Splinter Cell, Fifa13,...etc.
I had the same experience already on my 3rd xbox360. Luckily it's a Slim so it hasn't really given me any problems. But I've had my only 60gig ps3 since 2007 and it still works as it did day 1.
A bad thing. the go the god of war series has changed directors each time. But each one , in my opinion, has taken the franchise an improved on it.
on the 360 and that's gears 3. Meanwhile I have the rest of my games on my reliable ps3.
a ps3 title. I'll say it again, this gen life cycle will last longer then most people think. Given the current shape the the economy and the vast amount of studios that are closing, new systems maybe ways off.
Playstation3 is still a couple of million behind xbox360. But it doesn't change the fact that it's been outselling the xbox360 since 2008. The 360 is already extremely cheap. If you're Microsoft, you have to be wondering what else can you do. I wouldn't be expecting new hardware so soon people. This isn't the kind of economy that you want to launch a new system. Nintendo is just updating their to compete with the HD.
people get annoyed by this? It's appealing more than to a certain audience. Sure there are people like you who don't touch MP but there are also people who don't touch SP. Santa Monica isn't taking anything away from the title okay. They are only adding more to it. I don't see how gamers can say more free content is a bad thing. Just like the ps3 itself, it didn't need 3d but it is a nice feature to have? Of course it is.
extending the longevity of the game rather than have it end up at some Gamestop under used games. Also what most people look for especially if you're asking them to fork up $65. All developers want to do it but it also take alot of creativity. Not all developers are willing to step up to the plate in this department. You ultimately want your game to remain as long as it can in someone's library.
have said it better myself Torchic.
to disagree with you respectfully. Itagaki had nothing to do with the recent Ninja Gaiden 3 and he was mostly to blame for it's success. Japan also doesn't care really about MP as much as the west does. I think you're jumping the gun a bit without taking into account a lot of factors. But that's your opinion.
One, I'm almost certain that any single player footage they have, they are saving it for E3. Second, what you can take away from this is that it was multiplayer. My point it that it looked damn good to be online so expect SP to look way better.
Once you complete me have the game play down then why not focus on graphics. God of war, Uncharted, Gears and Halo all did that. But you must have your game play mastered first before if you focus on graphics
I never said the YLOD never existed but it's not to the extent that you would like to believe. My first 360(launch)gpu disconnected from the board. My 2nd one got RROD. My slim though has been running nicely. Them_Bones said death virus and to me that sounds more like RROD then YLOD.
