So that we can make fun of the average graphics and zombie limbs going through the environment?
I'm sorry that the Left 4 Dead demo was entirely average, and that I voiced my opinion. I don't think that saying that the zombies in the game look like people with ketchup stains on their face is nitpicking. It's quite ugly for this generation of consoles.
I'm the author. I own both the Xbox 360, and the PS3. Regardless of platform, my opinion would have been the same. I compared the Left 4 Dead demo to my previous experiences with first person shooters on both consoles. In my opinion, it wasn't very impressive.
Actually, I enjoy most of the exclusives on my Xbox 360. If I thought that the Left 4 Dead demo was great, then I would have said so. My opinion wouldn't have been different if it were a PS3 exclusive.
In my opinon, if Left 4 Dead had a truly enjoyable single player campaign that had more of a cinematic flare to it, as well as the multiplayer, it would be a much more enjoyable game. It feels like half of a game to me.
The Legend of Zelda. She wasn't even in Majoras Mask. Who's telling legends of Zelda? They're too busy telling children about the heroic adventures of Link, or the "unnamed" hero.
So, a hooker approaches me, and says "hey, looking for a good time?" My reply is "No, that's ok, I already have a copy of LittleBigPlanet at home."
I didn't mind it. Large space breasts, a decent story and gameplay. All for the low, low price of $9.99!
I never said that Square Enix developed the game. They have their name on the cover, and I'm sure that is what caught a lot of peoples interest hoping that it was an RPG when it first came out. That's all.
While I don't agree with anything you just said, I giggled at the first line. I love the open zone.
That's lovely that the author can find a DVD player for $30, but if he wasn't trapped in the early 90s, he'd realize that the main selling point to the PS3 is Blu Ray. He's probably one of those people that won't aknowledge that Blu Ray is superior to DVD.
Demo impressions it is, then. I didn't think so much confusion would be caused from the word review, but I guess I can understand. I'm not assigning scores. I'm just giving my opinion on the small, unfinished portion of the game I played.
I'm going to have to disagree with you there. I'm not a fanboy, but I rarely see any screen tearing on the PS3, and didn't notice much in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. I didn't notice many framerate dips, either. Regardless, even if these technical issues plagued Uncharted, it's still a great game.
I played it on Xbox Live. You have to be a gold member, though. :(
I thought the gun play was very archaic, but I didn't have much trouble with the camera.
Yes we do. Next time I write an article about a demo, I'll make sure to not use the word "review" in the title out of fear that people can't handle it. Think of it as Mirrors Edge demo impression?
That's pretty much nostalgia talking, isn't it? I understand, though. Even though the new Sonic the Hedgehog is probably going to get a 7.5 if it's lucky, I want to play it more than most games coming out.
You're right for the most part. While I still don't think the game is good, playing it a second time without having all the negative thoughts I had formed based on what I heard about it, I realized that it's not all bad. Every game has a fan base, and this game isn't so bad that it doesn't deserve one. My first play through, I focused on nothing but the negative, which didn't really allow me to form my own opinion.
I don't think it will be a flop, but the gun play really needs to show some signs of life in the next game after Underworld. This isn't the Playstation 1 anymore.
This article is about the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead. If it looks good on the PC, that's great, but irrelevant for Xbox 360 owners that don't play games on the PC.
