Not sure what is up with the dislikes, but yes it is very likely that PS5 will be B/C, thus removing the need of wating for emulators.
It (emulator) is progressing quite nicely. Tho (as always) i would recommend avoiding the comment sections of both the videos and the articles concerning RPCS3.
"Jim Sterling" is all I need to say.
Tho i didn't like the Witcher 3 as much as most people did i still had great time with the game (especially Witcher 2) and as such im more than hyped for the show.
"but it's so unrealistic. There's really no way to implement something that limits emulation to games you own."
Where there is will, there is a way. Many things we have today, were deemed "unrealistic" until they were made possible. Ofc it won't be an easy thing to do, but it's far from impossible.
(PART 2)
"There will always be those types of people, even those who own consoles now that think nothing of buying used games from Gamestop, where developers nor publishers see profit from, as it all goes to Gamestop. That doesn't negate legitimate concerns for preserving history with those who purchased games, and wish to continue to play what they paid for regardless of inevitable failing hardware. "
Are we seriously comparing the loss of ...

"But they're only remastering SELECT titles, not every title. Obscure titles are left behind. The selection is few, and will never cover every game released on that previous platform between lack of popularity, or legal issues. Nor is a remaster the same game as it was originally developed. Its it's own thing. PSNow relies on internet connection, you don't actually own the game, and should that service just one day not meet Sony's way, i...
@Eiffel
"Tell me, once the PS3's online services are inevitably shuttered, how are you going to access numerous PlayStation store games that you didn't buy, how many right now are accessible on PS4?Also, what are gonna do when your PS3 supposedly dies or the harddrive fails and you can't redownload those titles from the now defunct network? "
While i do agree with the sentiment of preserving the games, this is where i must object to ...
While i agree with your sentiment and i'm also against piracy, it is possible that the OP already did purchase those games but his PS3 broke down(but we will never know for sure).
Hopefully one day Sony or Microsoft will make some sort of deal to disable access to emulators for people that didn't purchase those games.
I could see it running with the same graphical settings with more stable 60 fps and maybe 4K native.
That is if there even will be a need for a PS4 emulator (if the PS5 gets B/C).
I fail to see why do some fans (or more precisely) get triggered by these emulation attempts.Sure it does open the door to piracy via ROM-s, but its not like these game cease being the exclusives of the PlayStation brand. People are playing a slightly downgraded versions of the PS1-PS2-PS3 games (namely taking a hit in performance) with the same console settings...until later on (if you have a capable PC) they can upgrade those same games with upped resolution and frame-rate with the same co...
@Big_Game_Hunters
"They were overlooked in Zelda because the rest of the game more than carried its weaknesses."
That's where people here who played the game greatly disagree. There is a reason why great number of people (unfortunately fanboys included) have the impression that Nintendo games get good reviews based on nostalgia factor, and if that is the case, such double standards should not be tolerated for any game review.
10/10 doesn't represent perfection in game/movie review system.
@Big_Game_Hunters
I don't support any kind of game fanaticism, be it Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo or PC side of things, and just because one group of people do it doesn't justify the other group of people.
That said, GOW did receive criticism over things that were overlooked in some Zelda and Mario games (or Nintendo games in general), and as such, double standards receives the negative reactions from both the gamers and fanboys.
"*Gives Breath of the Wild a perfect 10. 🤔"
Lets not bring Nintendo reviews into discussion, cuz we all know fanboys will defend those reviews to death, especially the ones for Zelda and Mario games.
I still consider it the "Old Man Logan" of games.
Considering we haven't even seen a glimpse of real-time gameplay and the game world itself, there nothing captivating right now.
Different mythology comes with different and perhaps stronger foes...
I can feel hair on my chest growing already...
Taking into consideration the bare *minimum* requirements it takes to start up the emulator ( https://github.com/RPCS3/rp... the answer is a definite...
