Of course Sony was not the first. What's your point?
However, Sony is doing it and M$ isn't. I'd love to see old Xbox classics such as Halo:CE, Stranger's Wrath, Fable, Republic Commando, Otogi 1 and 2, etc. remade in HD.
Sony is really catering to their fanbase with these HD remakes.
A link to VGChartz? HAHAHAHAH!
Again, I'll ask a very simple question: if PS3 hasn't been outselling the 360, how has it gone from 8 million behind worldwide to 4 million?
It's not a great game. 360 gamers would be better off just buying a PS3 and playing last year's GotY, Uncharted 2.
PS3 has been outselling the 360 worldwide since the PS3 launched. The only reason why the 360 is ahead in overall sales is because of their year headstart.
Before you disagree, ask yourself how the PS3 closed the 8 million gap between the 360 at the PS3's launch down to roughly 4 million today. Use your maths.
EDIT @ disagrees
You can't disagree with maths. Sorry, fanboys. And anyone else find it funny how certain people (below vvvvv ...
PSN games and XBLIVE games are (almost) completely different. Why compare them?
On Xbox Live, you have a lot of action/arcade games like Shadow Complex, Castle Crashers, and then artsy platformers like Limbo and Braid. You also have a lot of retro-style games like Geometry Wars.
On PSN, you have a LOT more "artsy" games such as Flower, flOw, Everyday Shooter, Pixeljunk Shooter, etc.
Gamers should NOT believe this BS.
Am I the only person who still remembers developers saying "downloadable is great! It cuts out the middleman! Games will be cheaper!"?
Yeah right. Downloadable games are as expensive - if not more expensive - than their retail copies.
Yeah, the Gothic series is sweet.
As if Molyneux is the person we should be listening to when it comes to step forwards in the gaming industry.
Most FPSs in general are the shallow pool. They're about twitch reflexes and camping (most, not all), not meaningful strategy and tactics.
Okay, I don't think Reach deserves all the hype nor the high scores (my opinion)?
But most disappointing game of the year? I doubt that.
Sounds like they just don't like driving games.
Oh wait. Gamesradar. This all makes sense now...
So, because the public accepts it, so should I!
*baaaah*
Wow. I gotta say that these HD remakes are picking up steam. Being able to put several games on Blu Ray really is nice, and the improved textures/improved resolution is awesome.
I would love love love to try this out. Hopefully I get into the LBP2 beta also. I'm already going to be in the AC: Brotherhood beta.
Finally! I can take the 2010 GotY-guaranteed game with me on the go! Apple was right when they said the iPhone had better games than PSP and DS.
Funny thing:
SOCOM and Gears 2 launched around the same time. SOCOM got absolutely slammed for its crappy servers. Reviews did not make a peep about Gears 2's lag. SOCOM's lag has been fixed, but Gears 2's lag is still around.
Nice article. I must say that it can get quite pricy, especially when your wife is also a gamer and dictates some (most) of your purchases.
Eh, I've seen better....
...sword combat! I was talking about the sword combat, for sure.
I know it sold a lot, and I know it sold around 2 million on the first day (or something like that).
But this IS VGChartz. Let's wait for reliable numbers from someone like Microsoft....er...wait. Let's just give up hope of ever knowing how much it really sold.
Sony and Microsoft's new motion thingies have the hype behind them, so while I'm sure the Wii will continue to sell, I doubt this will put a dent into Microsoft and Sony's plans.
