Microsoft is trying to replicate what the Wii did, with one major difference:
Wii's motion controls - while being casual friendly - also added new complexities to control methods. Kinect actually removes accuracy and control methods. There isn't a hardcore gamer on the planet that actually wants LESS control and accuracy over their games.
The amount of hackers on the PS3 is a fraction of what is on the Wii and/or 360.
Did a 15-year-old write this article? The iPhone is #1? Nice fakeout, but the 360 and PS3 are on the list? The Game Boy SP, not the original Game Boy is there? Gimme a break...
Kinda sad that such a simple process has made such an integral aspect of Reace so boring and pointless.
Eh, I think the score is fair. Tumble is little more than a tech demo, really, and it's also a blatant Boom Blox knockoff.
People gotta play more games. The "best game of all time" (if there even is one) would definitely be better and would influence gaming a lot more than Portal has. I can name at least 50 games that are better and more influential than Portal, in my opinion.
Motion controls are just another part of gaming, but they've been around since the NES. They're not the future, no more than JUST HD graphics or JUST online multiplayer are the "future" of videogames.
I lul'd
AC and AC2 are both great games. They're not flawless (storyline is ten sorts of messed up) but they are both fun games. Besides, it's difficult to find a AAA-quality open world game these days that isn't set in some sort of modern gangster or mercenary setting.
IMO, the Wii is the best of the bunch due to the software. Wii has so many great games that use the motion controller really well (and in a wide variety of ways). Move is a good alternative to Wiimote, but we'll have to see if the upcoming software will deliver.
Kinect is...Kinect. I can see a 5-year-old playing it, but what self-respecting gamer would actually want to play Kinect games? I hated Eyetoy and Eye games, and the Xbox camera games, too (oh, sorry. I shouldn...
Yeah, I'm amazed that people still believe VGChartz, especially when Sony or Microsoft come out with OFFICIAL sales numbers but for some crazy reason VGChartz still doesn't adjust.
Bubs+ for Planescape mention. I LOVE that game. I make it a point to play through it once a year (at least) to remind me of what a good video game is.
I think - sadly - the value of video games is going to be established by casual games, not artistic games. I mean, aren't boardgames (Monopoly, Chess) complete wastes of time? Well, no, because they encourage socialization. So, the value of video games are going to ride on Nintendo's "Wii would like to play" p...
I played through the PS3 demo twice and also watched a friend play through it, all on my HDTV. There was maybe one hiccup of screen tearing. I didn't notice any other tearing at all.
I did notice that the explosion effects and other elemental effects (light beams, electricity, smoke) were kinda bad looking but I think that'd be Unreal Engine.
First-person shooters are the next Sports genre. Just like we've gotten the same old Madden and NBA games year after year, we will get the same old Halo and Call of Duty year after year.
Yet, just like we get high-quality (but far less popular) sports games like FIFA and NHL, we will still get high-quality (but far less popular) FPSs
I have the physical boardgame of this and it's great! Definitely don't pass up the chance to try this one out.
Bungie and Santa Monica should be on that list. Not because those are bad devs, but because I would love to see what else they can do!
But this won't be included with Fable III at launch. Molyneux himself confirmed it.
"MS on Anything:
We need to step up."
Fixed.
HAhahaha! Awesome trailer! Correct me if I'm wrong, but this video was made in LBP1.
This is Game of the Decade.
"EA has lost their way. All that matters in this business is $$$, and EA has gone and done stupid stuff like releasing new franchises like Mirror's Edge and Dead Space, and they've even IMPROVED franchises! Why would they do that?"
