Journalists claimed (and Ninja Theory hinted) that Enslaved's graphics would rival Uncharted 2's. Nope, didn't happen.
Now they want to backpedal and say the mo-cap was overdone?
Next in healine news: PopCap Games says that Killzone 3's graphics are too detailed.
"Earn the right".
In other words, you can say goodbye for creative developers making their game for Activision. If you haven't "earned the right", you make what we say that you make!
There WILL be at least one or two more console cycles.
My opinion? Handheld gaming platforms have a better chance of going cloud-based before consoles do, because of how handhelds are slowly melding with cell phones.
But here in the USA at least, we are not even close to cloud-based gaming for everyone. All you need to play games is a TV and the game console. Lots of people aren't going to like it if you have to add a paid monthly internet service as a re...
Yep. Lots of those old adventure games were full of great humor.
What about Portal? That's a modern funny game.
Video games are funny in different ways, though. I can think of many times when physics wigged out in Half Life 2 - for example - and I laughed my head off.
I feel that IGN had been out of touch with the PC market for quite a number of years. They basically just slap Valve and Blizzard games into there with a couple of lesser-known games to keep up their mask of gamer cred. They ignore so many facets of PC gaming it's sick. I'm convinced they're console-only gamers who draw the short end of the stick and have to do PC reviews every once in a while.
I don't care about teh waggle, but I'd absolutely LOVE to point-and-click in an RPG. RPGs have a lot of low-involvement sections, so it'd be nice to sit back, relax, and control the game with one hand with the Move controller or the Wiimote. Just point and select my menus, point and move my characters, etc.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but Coletrain, Bayonetta, and Kratos are three of the most dull video game characters in existence. Don't get me wrong: their games are very fun, but there are far better (and funner) video game characters out there.
I loved KZ2 so I can't wait for this!

Yes, DJ Hero 2 is coming next month. Have you played the demo? It's going to be sick! They've improved every aspect of the first game.
Don't you mean to say "wwwise fwom yow gwwwave" in a muffled voice?
;)
DJ Hero - in my opinion - is the best of the current music games. And I don't even like hip-hop! I'm glad the game was successful but not too successful: it keeps it under the radar from becoming another milked-to-death Guitar Hero.
Nor would we want to imagine.
In what twisted world do hardcore gamers actually want LESS accuracy, LONGER response time, and FEWER control inputs? This is why I cannot take people seriously when they claim to be core gamers AND also claim to anticipate Kinect.
Gave and 8/10 to Enslaved and Lords of Shadow...
...also gave an 8/10 to God of War III. Lulz.
So, how's your relationship with Infinity Ward goin' there, Bobby?
EA has devs like DICE, Visceral, Harmonix (who left Activision), and Bioware. Yeah....great people don't want to work there.
*sigh*
It will probably go multiplatform, kids. I hate to say it, but it will. If it's any solace, this game will probably be mediocre anyway. Microsoft has been feeding S-E large bags of money from the start, and if you don't want to believe it, just ask yourself why Square Enix's games have been exclusive on the 360 like Star Ocean (exclusive for a whole year) and Infinite Undiscovery.
That was a bit of sarcasm at the end there. Why would I boycott Activision's games? Kotick doesn't make the video games. Sorry, I guess I should have put an /s at the end.
Next year in video game headlines:
"Bungie sucks. We thought they'd be good, but we didn't realize that we weren't doing a 'buy one get one free' purchase with Bungie, because all we really wanted was the Halo franchise. I'm angry, because really wanted to show Microsoft how to truly squeeze the milk out of something".
/bitter sarcasm in case you can't tell
What a little b*tch.
"These guys made me rich, but they'll never be successful without me."
Classic Kotick. This is why I won't buy your games (except for DJ Hero).
Well, the first Dead Space did a fantastic job of freshening the horror genre.
Yepppp.
On a side note, haven't we heard this "too much variety" comment before? I'm beginning to wonder if this is why many devs add in all the variety through paid DLC...
