I think the production cycle on this game extends back into the WiiU's lifecycle. The amount of content they're talking about seems quite staggering - something that would take years to make. I bet they expected the WiiU to last longer and for Odyssey to be a flagship title. Thank goodness they took the time to really make this shine on the Switch instead. This game is probably not the result of apologies - I would guess the Metroid moves were apologies for screwing up Metroid for so ...

"We focus tested our focus tests so we'd be able to focus test the focus tests of our focus tests!" *pulls a curtain over Visceral* "And now, please enjoy these buzzwords and the repetition of the title 'Star Wars' fifteen times while we attempt to figure out what we're doing."

Lemme preface this by saying that I'm absolutely one of those SJW-snowflakes y'all are making a fuss about in the comments. I'm fine with that. That said...
Kanye is a rich celebrity who sells himself on his immature jerk-ish image. He and his wife have basically profited off of their own living reality show, fueled by Twitter and utterly fake. Wanna know why he's so fascinated with Trump?
He does the same exact crap - make people mad via various me...
I completely get the sentiment here, and when you're talking about a single-player game or even a couch multi, this game isn't enough.
However, be sure to watch some of the early MvCI tournament finals - SoCal Regionals just happened, for instance. People who are figuring out the meta for this game are making it so, so good to watch. It's an ugly game that allows for some beautiful performances from the top players, particularly those that played MvC2 - not 3. ...
N4G headlines aside, the good stuff isn't in the comparisons, it's in the analysis itself. Digital Foundry continues to deliver - it's interesting that PC2 is basically just Project Cars, but with new features. Where they've improved in performance is where they've compromised, adding in adaptive resolution.
It's like a microcosm of the performance we're seeing this year. This year's games seem to indicate that with the shared, simpler archit...
I'd say Playerunknown won 2017 himself, netting a ridiculous amount of cash for what amounts to a very clever Arma engine mod and occupying the minds of just about every games writer on the planet for a chunk of the year. I'm not even interested in playing PUBG and that still seems pretty obvious. It's a little depressing! I don't want that much attention on that ugly of a game! XD
Beyond that, though, for real GOTY contenders it's mostly all Nintendo. Z...
I think what Erik's saying is that Odyssey started out as a WiiU title and got moved to Switch. Considering how long it takes to design and develop a new Mario title, I'm sure that's the case, and they've taken the time to maximize the visuals to meet the Switch's power boost. (Which isn't that much, mind you - the key feature of the console is its portability.)
That's honestly a really good time for it to come out if you're a gamer - if it's not a placeholder. Christmas is over, you're in that holiday lull between that and New Year's, AGDQ is ramping up, and boom, new gigantic game. I'd like it to be sooner, of course, but I'd like someone to pick that kind of daring timing.
It reminds me of the downgrading community that makes newer games playable (albeit weird) on crappy computers. It's largely a fix for gamers in developing nations. We're lucky to get the PCs we get here :) Glad they're doing some of the work for them in this case - they might actually get more of the global mobile gaming f2p community on board and monetize the fact that they're playing.
As a pure gaming experience, Spelunky should be near the top of the list. That game's almost too good. Prime is great, but I don't think it set gameplay standards nearly as much as it established a great atmosphere in 3D for possibly the first time ever.
Man, Edge sure is a fickle publication. So many new games - GTAV over Earthbound, SotN, Katamari, freaking Tetris... at least they have Monkey Ball on the list, that game needs more love.
This looks appropriately 70s enough - look at those bellbottoms. I'd be surprised if these photos were faked, this seems pretty legit.
Considering how much Sony has consolidated its resources around gaming in the past couple years due to the PS4's success, they may be in a bit of a worse spot when it comes to manufacturing state-of-the-art screens for portables. I bet they've been looking at this for a while, looking at the price of purchasing OLED screens from LG or Samsung, and balking until that price comes down. Yes, they have a bit of a phone company, but that thing isn't going to help them on this.

Ha, sure, yeah, because it's a wonderful time to buy a 3DS now- oh. That's a beautiful design. Okay.
Don't sleep on Sine Mora if you haven't played it before, it's a wonderful game. Should be great on the go with Switch.
I'd say this was a change based on someone up top wanting more types of gameplay to be shown off. Hence the water level.
@scarface0121: Clearly you underestimate the time and dedication of gamers! Come on - I love my Switch, but I also play other stuff.
Raiden was Kojima's troll to the world, all the while making MGS2 a treatise on fanboys and the rise of the earliest kind of large-scale internet forum culture. Like this article says, Raiden as a character was subpar, but he was there to make or embody all of Kojima's brink-of-the-millennium points. He was basically commentary in pretty-boy form.
I agree with the article - this isn't about who the best character is (ahem, it's obviously Fatman!), but rathe...
Well, sure, he acknowledged that and he does way more stuff on bad Steam games than he does on PSN. He's pointing out a few very specific things that need to get fixed. In a way, I think he's doing it because he thinks a few people in Sony NA/EU are listening.
Eurogamer has Digital Foundry for this. It's why they're separate.
