Yeah, I completely agree. I played the game for about 6 months, and loved it, but wanted to check out other MMO's and can't justify more than one sub a month. I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm glad that if you bought the box version your automatically a premiere sub (or whatever its called) and dont lose out on any content you have already purchased. Can't wait to jump back in this fall.
I think battlefield 3 is what will make me finally upgrade my videocard :)
I wasn't trying to be a fanboy with my statement, but you seem to strongly disagree with what I said. Maybe I am completely wrong but can you tell me what technical things Bungie has pioneered in their game engines? I haven't seen anything new/amazing in their enemy AI, lighting rendering, physics, animation systems, texture renderings, polygon counts (these things are tech)...Yeah, the gameplay is good, but thats not technology. So what things did they pioneer in their game engine...
No offense to bungie, the do make great games. But the statement was about TECH, and I haven't really found any recent Bungie games to be that technically advanced.
Its obviously left4dead 3.
:p
ah yes, i spent many an hour playing this one on one deathmatch over the 56k modem. And it was all awesome. I still to this day have random descent dreams.
I've put my time into halo online, and yeah, its fun, but Its not really "better" than other games out there. There is a lot of herd mentality with xbox gamers when it comes to halo being the best game ever, but honestly if you look at the mechanics of the game what is truly "better" than the majority of other fps's out there? I'm not saying its a bad game, but its really just marketing and fanyboys that have led halo to being so popular.
I actually like the gameplay of crysis better, its not nearly as arcady as halo, and the gameplay is a bit deeper (stealth/assault options). Multiplayer is actually alot of fun... I will say I like the plasma grenades in halo though :p
not sure those classify as casual games
they are on steam.
I'll give you that, no contest. I've had terrible luck trying to use a 6ft cable over 10ft as well.
However, we're not talking 10-50' cables here. The ps3 is going to come with a 6' hdmi, and that is what I linked to on amazon. True, you may get some higher end plugs/casing on a more expensive cable, which may hold up to being moved around better over time. Like I said before, with a digital signal it either works or it doesn't.
Oh...
Yeah, its cool that they throw them in there, but seriously, HDMI cables cost under $5.
http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-...
This one on amazon is under $3. And before anyone goes off saying that better quality ones cost $100, a digital connection is a digital connection. If it works it works, and spending more money ...
"You should be really naive to believe, even for a second, that Natal is going to be priced at $149"
You're completely right, its not like microsoft ever charges exorbitant amounts for their peripherals. The wi-fi was around $100, the HD was around $120... oh wait...
You've got to be a bit naive to think that microsoft wouldn't charge this price for natal, i mean, hopfully its more advanced than a wi-fi adapter or a hard drive :)
Seriously, this is the only reason I have a console.
I'm not saying killzone 3 won't look amazing, because it will, but "makes its predecessor look like a tech demo"...well tech demos usually look better than anything that you'll see in an actual game, designed to push hardware to the limits, and usually past them, for benchmarking purposes or what not... I just don't think that's a very good analogy.
Awesome. I honestly lol'd.
one or two people! I can't wait to play the ball game! its the best evah!!!!!!!!

Sony needs to make a new version of Cool Boarders. Other than that, I think my favorite all time snowboarding game was Amped 2, though they completely ruined that franchise with Amped 3.
I thinks its called Shaun White vampire slayer.
I really don't think thats quite the case with LOTRO. Alot of asian grinders yes, but from what I've read, You basically get the original game for pretty much free, then have to pay microtransactions for parts (or the whole) expansions. Pretty sure that Turbine has stated that they wont' have any unbalancing things in the cash shop, only expansion pack characters/zones (things you'd have to buy with a sub anyway) and potions etc that assist in leveling, but don't give unf...
