That's certainly your opinion and you are entitled to it...just make sure to put your money where your mouth is and NOT buy any of those games you disdain.
Personally, I love BF2, especially on the 360 and I am looking forward to this sequel quite bit. For people who like these games, the BF series has always had one of the best online experiences and I expect thsi will be no different.

The only problem is that everything there is also on XBL...as long as Sony keeps the entire service free and maintains good servers, that will be great. I am waiting to se it actually happen, but anything that forces competition (ie. XBL) to compete with FREE is a good thing long term...

What your analysis ignores is not the cost of owning the PS3 by saving $5 a day for 5 months (Sundays included...lol). The point is not whether or not it CAN be done...the point is whether or not it WILL be done outside of hardcore gamers.

Blu-Ray is lucky to MATCH HD-DVD, but I have yet to see anything on it that EXCEEDS HD-DVD...
PS3 is going to do very well as a Blu-Ray player, with a HUGE caveat...early adopters looking for a cheap Blu-Ray drive will get them but if they have ANY reliability issues (similar to the DVD drive problems in the early PS2's) then word will get around fast that it is not a good idea to buy them for movies.

That is really looking strong. Some of those character models reminded me of the "heavy rain" tech-demo that was recently released.

this downloaded last night for me in just over an hour. I started the download, watched the Superman Returns trailer and played one round of Hexic and it was done.
Solid demo, but I will reserve judgment until next week on the game. Graphically I thought it was slightly underwhelming - it looks very nice, but I thought it lacked some of the Madden 2006 polish on the players (the player models of Madden were a mess, but the level of detail was astounding).

That was a single game and before I quit counting I saw the exact same dive animation performed no lessthan 9 times (in just 6 points!!!).
The motions do look very fluid, but the trade off seems to be some very, very, very repetitive gameplay. That is about the kiss of death in a sports game.

The heartbreak and anguish over waiting sooooo looong for something, and building it up in his mind to heights that Jesus himself could not produce a gamesole to match - then havign his little heart ripped out and stomped to pulp when the machine is a titanic let down - will be priceless.

I have had a chance to have an extended viewing time with both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD this weekend and I have to be honest and say that HD movies will catch on in a big way for anyone who has an HDTV to take advantage of it.

The games that Japanese like to play so much are fine for them....keep them. I abhor the Final Fantasy games (and most RPGs for that matter) but that doesn't mean other people won't like them.
