Price is my major reason as a $400 player is just ridiculous. Hd-dvd movies are cheaper too, and all the video reviews give HD-DVD better ratings as well! As for the PS3, I would buy it but I'll be damn into a company forcing a format on me!

Numbers agree with me because people kept returning to the movies and bought have been buying Huge numbers DVD's. Just because the movie didn't live up to your dorky expectations doesn't mean it sucked.

I'm getting a HD-DVD from my wife for Christmas. Price is the major factor as HD-DVD players go for half what a Blu-Ray goes for. And I won't get a PS3 as all the games I want are coming to the 360 as well.

Don't get me wrong, the PS3 is a great machine but it has already lost this generation. With the PS2 it was seen as the "cool" machine with mass market commercials using the PS2 in it. Now, every mass commercial you see on television has people playing the 360. Even Espn is featuring the 360 instead on the PS3. Go check it out, www.espn.com.

When every commercial featuring videogames, has a person holding a 360 controller... then it's all over.
When television manuals have pictures of 360 in the set-up section.... then it's all over.

The mass market person will not buy a PS3 as a bluRay player because that would just be cheesy. The mass market will wait till the prices are reasonable for a HD player, and that price is the magic $200.

I'll be in-line at midnight picking up my order of Halo 3 and then spending the next day at home playing it with all my friends. Sure I can wait, but why??? Part of what makes this such a special day is the anticipation and the excitement of being surronded by others who share the same joy as yourself. And this is the only game I would ever do this for.

does not know what they are talking about. This is a "HUGE" deathblow to the Blu-Ray camp. The majority of the worlds products are made in this territory so for the Chinese Government themselves to support HD-DVD in a political government such as itself is downright crippling.
