About time. If Blizz releases WotLK like they did BC(with patches up to date and current with the rest of the world), the Chinese will have easy mode. Stars will have the Lich King down within a month. Two at the most.
Considering the tool to create a game like this is free, it's pretty impressive. It's going to be interesting to see what kind of maps/modes the player base can come up with in the future.
Yeah, IGN fails. But...
... the problem people are having with SC2 isn't all driver related. Some of it is simply the game. I've been lucky enough to not have any game crashing issues(just a minor mouse cursor issue, which is all on AMDs' shoulders), but for the thousands who can't play the game with i7 and gtx 480.... something isn't right. A lot is driver related though... and that's up-to-date drivers as well as outdated.
I love the...
I'd have to agree with you there. If you're buying a $700.00+ video card, and putting into a system that old, and underpowered you've got something loose up in the head.
The entire system they tested there(minus the gpu) is cheaper than a single 5970(which I would love to have 2 of..mmmm..)..
I had a hard time believing it at first also, but after I saw the other specs I became a believer. There are several factors that contribute to fps performance in video games. Cpu, memory, gpu and drivers to start with.
Not to mention, SC2 is having so many issues with drivers it's unreal. Especially with Crossfire. The 5970 is a dual gpu card, meaning it has two gpus. Making it a "Crossfire" card by itself. Essentially two cards running on one slot.

Pretty awful list. I'm not a fan of the Fable franchise, but it shouldn't be on that list.
imo, those games were too difficult for the editor and thus, the QQ fest!
Yeah, memory is probably it. You can always add more, and depending on your mobo you can go with faster memory for an added gain. But that's up to you.
Basic OC, which is what you're talking about won't give you much of a performance increase. In fact, w/o adequate cooling, you could end up doing more harm than good. Increase temps ftl. A few fps(and I mean just a few) isn't worth the 10c or higher temps you can see on the cpu.
It depends on his display, but if he is already matching his refresh rate on fps w/o an OC, there isn't a need to OC. Turn Vsync on and forget about it.
Blizzard did do a great job with SC2. Newer players have pretty much exactly what they need to really enjoy themselves. I've gotten a few people hooked on SC/BW over the last few years, and they're all loving Wings of Liberty.
There is also enough in the game for veteran and hardcore players alike. I've switched into achievement whore mode recently. Knocking out all of the single player stuff before I hit up B.Net.
Brutal looks so fun. I've been working on finishing up the Hard difficulty achievements. Once I'm done, it's Brutal time!
I wasn't saying -you- were bashing the game. Most of the people posting about this game, seem to be comparing it to a game that isn't even out yet... Don't get me wrong, I'm sure GT5 will be great and it alone is the reason I will buy a PS3... I guess there's nothing wrong about the number of cars( if that's what you're into). I'm more about the driving experience and the realism in the cars/tuning. Which previous GT games have been pretty far off from realism ...
When you look at Dirt, they've grabbed some of the more obvious rally cars. But left several out. No Citroen, Pugeot(at least in Dirt2). Then they add Baja trucks and a buggies. The thing is, when it comes to dirt racing.. unless you start counting circle track racing(which is a different sport entirely, more like NASCAR) you really don't have many options for vehicles. Even if you did add circle track cars into the game, you would get a whopping 4-6 more. And that's from the prof...
The thing is, if you actually watch a rally race. Or pay attention to the leader boards in a rally series... there are only xx number of cars/manufacturers. You won't see a Zonda going up Pikes Peak, but you will see Subaru, Mitsu and Pugeot(just to name a few).
Comparing GT series(a simulator) to a series of game that only focuses on one type of racing is borderline pointless. It's not about the number of cars, it's how close the devs get the racing and the cars(...
Yeah because, everyone in the world knows how game sales work in Korea.
/sarcasm end
So I guess we're playing w/o Vsync now? Unless your gpu can't even reach the refresh rate of your display, you should have it on. If that's the case, spend $100-$150 bucks and you're fine.. on Sc2 that is.
I think you mean 5870.
And if that's 80c..
..the 5xxx are supposed to be pretty good at keeping cool. Although 80c is well within the optimal range, they usually only get that high with poor airflow, or bad t.paste
Unless you go play on his account, you will not be able to play the game. You'll need to buy a copy, yourself.
You can install the game with his disc though. Just the cd key to access the game is tied to one B.Net account.
A suspension is more than enough. Just do the usual 3/21/72 hour suspension punishment. Beyond that if the player still hasn't gotten it through their head not to betray friendly players, then by all means ban away.
Hopefully they fix AA with the 5xxx cards.
Worst idea for the Genesis to date. Also, this article was posted a few months back on this very same website.
