Whilst GamePass is incredible value, my console just sits there, occasionally being played in short bursts every few weeks, so after much consideration, I have decided to sell my Series X and it’s listed online as I type this.
I had hoped to hold on for Starfield and/or STALKER but honestly, I’m done waiting on Microsoft and their constant delay after delay.
I may pick one up later in the life-cycle if they manage to turn things around but yeah. I’d rath...
Armoured Core 6 will be my pick out of the three, with Baldur’s Gate being a close second.
This was so bad I actually ended up returning it.
Fancied a rhythm game for a while but the design here is just counter-intuitive.
My biggest bug-bear was the colours of each button.
I know the game is multi platform but they should’ve allowed input customisation because I default to the blue for X but in this case blue is Square, Green is X instead of triangle and so on, it’s just very difficult to control when you’re used to playing mainly on o...
JFC - I’m done with this thread.
You both can’t distinguish between a day one patch and the actual game download. Like beating a dead horse trying to get through your thick skulls.
@Crimson
“I think a game that requires you to “download” a patch to make it play isn’t a big deal at all.”
It’s not a patch, you are literally downloading the game. Which defeats the purpose of buying a physical copy.
If it’s not going to stop you from playing then more power to you. I’ll still play it and I’m sure the game will be great BUT just because people have a different opinion than you doesn’t mean they’re being “melodramatic”....
When the servers go offline, you can still play a game without a day one patch - that’s the difference.
When the game is only 80% on disc then you literally cannot play this game in the future.
Then you have to also factor in data caps (US, I believe operate off of these) whereby consumers can only download set amounts per month or face extortionate charges.
We also have data speeds, outages, etc and let’s not pretend service outages d...
Interesting take from the man whose country with high rates of poverty and violence.
The same country where a PS5 costs the equivalent of $968 USD and the minimum monthly income is the equivalent of $250 USD.
Yeah….I don’t think games are the problem, chief.
When they can’t do anything about the real world problem they come for creative freedom and artistic expression.
Videogames will never cease to be a target by the uninformed.
Well that article is a lie:
“The biggest one is that it forces you to use the new Dynamic Control style which gives you a simple but annoying control style. Here you have Light, Medium, Heavy, Special, Throw, and Auto buttons; when used you do most moves automatically and hold the “Auto” button to do pre-made combos.”
Did we play the sam demo as I played both the tutorial and some arcade fights with the classic control scheme? The game in no way “forces y...
Looks so good, love horror games but they always feature ghosts or zombies, so aliens is a nice change of pace.
Yep.
As much as I don’t think the deal is good for gamers in the slightest.
The ignorance of the Sony fanboys who claim they’re unhappy for Xbox gamers but are actually just insecure that they may lose access to some of the top grossing videogames is truly astounding.
All whilst wearing their tinfoil hats and screeching “Bbbrrribbbeeee!”
Meanwhile turning a blind eye to Sony and pretty much any big company doing the s...
Way too many titles for me:
Street Fighter
Diablo
Park Beyond
The Greyhill Incident
Final Fantasy XVI
Going to be a great month!
I think Microsoft have enough on their plate that they’re struggling to manage as is.
Absolutely, Quake was wild.
The MP aspect really shined and took off.
There was a series on Netflix about different genres of videogames and John Romero was on there discussing Doom, Quake & Wolfenstein - can’t remember the name but it’s definitely worth looking for if videogame history interests you.
Some would argue Wolfenstein too…
“It's about innovation, not popularity.”
You clearly misunderstand.
Demon’s Souls garnered less attention and therefore, its innovation went un-noticed.
By the release of Dark Souls, the Soulslike sub-genre had essentially established itself and garnered more notoriety as Dark Souls refined several elements of Demon’s Souls and was for all intents and purposes, the better game. As it had gained more attention, it had more eyes on it which mea...
I’m positive FFXIV has many years left in the tank with successful expansion after successful expansion and a solid playerbase.
WoW has been going for much longer and both will continue to thrive for some time.
@DrDoomer
What?
Are you okay? 😂
The website clearly shows who the author is underneath, learn to read.
Re: ignorance, see my above comment - learn to read.
It’s true.
Demon’s Souls was not as mainstream as Dark Souls.
See: sales figures.
Original Demon’s Souls: 1 million.
Dark Souls: 2.37 million.
Don’t be ignorant of the facts and you’ll look muc...
Demon’s Souls was for sure the start of that journey BUT it didn’t garner mainstream attention at the time.
I literally found a used Japanese copy in my local game store and asked what it was as I hadn’t heard a thing about it & that was when I’d regularly pick up the PSU magazines.
Hmmm, they’ve invested a lot and would probably want to push as to not lose that initial investment; however, when the result comes back the same, they’ll kick themselves as those millions could’ve been used to bolster their struggling game development.
Hope it works out either way but I could see this being the beginning of the end of the Xbox division with a shift to a cloud based GamePass service being the focus long term.
