Well Metro Redux is still the most visually appealing game I've play this gen. 60 FPS makes a HUGE difference when actually playing the game, it's so much more immersive not to have constant blur/double image. The only time 30 FPS looks better is when the camera isn't moving, every other time all those extra details and higher res textures are blurry messes.
If I spent billions on a game I'd want to exploit money from everywhere possible. May not be great for xbox, but it's good for MS as a whole.
If MS took Minecraft away from all of its competitors like Google, Apple, Sony, etc. and kept it only on Windows phones, PC, and xbox they'd lose millions of users.
Edit: Just got further in Far Cry 4, there's actually some naked breasts, although, it's not very sexualized...more akin to seeing naked boobs in National Geographic...my point remains, I'd like too see more extremely attractive females in games. Continue making the men very attractive too for all I care, just don't try and make everyone fit into some illusory and boring average.
I definitely don't like this new trend of games not having women with curvy physiques. In fact, women in games are showing less sex-appeal than the men these days it seems, with baggier clothing, small breast and behinds... As an entertainment medium it's an escape from reality, it's a shame that our virtual companions have to be realistic or painfully common. I much rather interact with bombshells...

Both the "5 things I hate.." about PS4 and xone artcles are pretty good. Note however, the DS4 thumbsticks have been fixed, the battery life and general build quality definitely hasn't though.
Multiple game types in a single mode like Killzone. In fact, every mp shooter should have that.
It is interesting that a significant number of owners of Destiny and Drive Club absolutely love the game...or are at least completely addicted.
I understand the Destiny criticisms but the reviews completely overlooked its attributes, and after logging over 100 hrs I can't say the game deserves less than an 8.
It hilarious when you now see review sites put it on their GOTY lists or say things like "Destiny is the best 6/10 games they've ever playe...
After the patches Drive Club may be the best next gen racing game now. It's the perfect balance between arcade and sim. If you love sim games then no, but the people that have it tend to love it.

Yeah, me too, I get the same thing with the Far Cry menus sometimes and the Dragon Age Inquisition menus as well.
So strange that the menus are more taxing than the actual game. My only theory is that the menus are unlocked framerates, as Infamous and Killzone made the fans run louder all game.
I really hope Sony doesn't blow the pricing like they so often do. I hope they learned from PS4 how important it is to align price with consumers' perceived value.
I also hope it's not another amazing Sony idea that's implemented poorly, like Sony sadly so often does. Please make sure the content and service quality is top notch. If they're going to compete with Netflix then do it properly, don't just release a TV service for the sake of having a TV...
After 5 broken 360s I say in a general sense no, but XONE was designed to be on constantly due its initial TV focus and it is a very quit console that seems built to last.

I understand what the author is saying but I must disagree.
A videogame can definitely screw you over. Anyone who has ever lost 30hrs of play time due to a save bug, or had the graphics turn to trash due to a grain glitch (Crysis 2 on 360), or had online not work even somewhat consistently for 4 month after launch, or released a full priced game full of microtransactions needed to experience your favourite mode (NBA2K) etc. will tell you tell you that a video game can screw...
The most important thing is that it runs reliably, quietly and dissipates heat well. I wish my PS4 was bigger sometimes or had a separate a power brick. Sometimes the fan gets pretty loud, strangely mostly during in-game menus though, not during gameplay.
I wouldn't care if my PS4 was as big as an A/V Receiver if it meant I could keep it running games 24/7 for 10 years with no problems.

I don't mind IGN but their GOTY awards website layout was atrocious. The most unclear, slow running, and visually unappealing thing I've seen from a well know website..probably ever if I think about it.
Not sure if that's a good idea. How could anyone stomach paying $400 for it and with no AAA game now, it would just feel kinda of sad. Like you were a fool for buying it.
Best just wait until the next Holiday Season sale or get something else. The value of an xone is $350 or less (really $300 because it came with so much extra) in the minds of mass consumers. MS did really well in the US this season, why ruin that with a price hike.
I don't. I kept my PS3 but I sold most of my games.
Kinect is dead, MS killed it in 2014 by unbundling it from xone. It's a doorstop now.
