Actually it was completely down for 3 days and had intermittent service for longer than that.
Even apart from Christmas, lot of people took time off work hoping to play games and couldn't. PSN was down way too much in 2014, if they really wanted to apologize they could have given a month, it costs them next to nothing.
Are you so much in love with Sony that you, the consumer, would be opposed to that.
A real thank you shows appreciation and gives something additional, this is more of a reimbursement of something that was lost.
It's pretty cheap actually, they could at least have given a month.
It depends on what type of game the dev is making. I doubt 52% of COD, GTA, Far Cry, Dragon Age, etc. purchasers are women, why complain about the lack of female protagonists when the article says that phone/tablet games are where many female gamers are playing. Games like Candy Crush don't have protagonists.
It's probably best for devs to just know their target audience and cater towards them instead of trying to appeal to everyone and ending up satisfying no one....
Hard to take it seriously when the author uses unbridles hyperbole. It would be exceedingly difficult to create the worst mp of all time.
What about extending my membership Sony? Ever think of that or are you just concerned with selling product and not your subscribers.
I think for many it's probably some sports game. It's really easy to get 4-6 people playing together without any need for split screen or performance drops.
I'm just curious how much it costs to manufacture an xone now.
Some hack for the good of all, some hack just to troll. Not all hackers are bad. Some have very noble purposes. Lizard squad are complete jack asses though.
Awesome, I love GOW
Well deserved.
It's a shame they blew the launch but the fault is their own. Maybe Drive Club 2 (if ever released) will allow them to redeem their metacritic.
Awe YISSS!
"Xbox One had sold 10 million units and that “the milestone was achieved on the week ending December 13, 2014"
...
"This is fantastic news for Microsoft and now puts the Xbox One just 3.5 million units behind Sony’s PlayStation 4, which was sold 13.5 million units, a figure the Japanese conglomerate released in late September"
May want to rethink that particular section of the article.
Introducing Share Play so soon really surprised me and is a very cool feature. It's great being able to try my friends games to see if their worth buying. It convinced me to by a couple of games I never would have had any interest in. I only hope they improve on the resolution and it will be perfect.
Lizard Squad are the internets biggest trolls.
If they want to be the most hated group they're succeeding. What type of A-holes bring down gaming networks on Christmas, the day the most people get new games and consoles that they want to play and set up online.
When better hacker groups get the FBI to bring them down there should be a universal gaming online celebration.
Biggest exclusives for each console this year it's arguable who has the best ones:
MCC = TLOU Remastered
Sunset Overdrive = Infamous SS
Forza = DriveClub (after patch)
And Outlast, KI, Titanfall and FF14 are very good games but in terms of exclusives, there is no advantage and if there is one, it's likely in the PS4s favour when indies are considered. And then there's multiplats, so in terms of "quality" it up to persona...
All I know is that I'm very happy with my purchase and the other console doesn't currently have any exclusives that I'm that interested in but multiplats tend to be my favourite games anyways.
To me games actually feel a lot more cinematic at 60 FPS. I feel like I'm in the game world instead of just staring at a screen. The constant blur with 30 FPS breaks the immersion for me.
To me, Metro Redux graphics are among the best this year largely because of the 60 FPS. Sure games like Far Cry look great when you're not moving and 30 FPS games have better textures up close, but the second you're moving the game becomes blurry. The crispness and clarity ...
The picture they use for the game is terrible and there's no link to more pics or info about the game either.
You'd think that maybe it would be nice to give one iota of care about the actual game in an article about it..
100% Yes
I'm not interested in xone's current exclusives but even I was tempted to buy one due to the amazing prices.
I could have gotten one at Target with two games ($60 ACU and $30 ACBF), 3 month live card AND a $50 store card for $329. It was soooo tempting but I don't know what I'd use it for after I played Unity. Next year though, if Halo 5 and Quantum Break are excellent I'll definitely pick one up and put it next to my PS4.
