For me, every Halo game except for the first one has been a slow burner in terms of loving it. Meaning that when I first popped in the disc I liked it, but didn't love it. Then the more I played the SP and MP the more I enjoyed them both until in the end, 100+hrs later I would decide that my initial 8/10 game turned into at least a 9.5/10.

All the console makers goal is to push the others out, then they would get the royalties for every console game sold. It would at least double their profits.
Me neither, this gen is sol old that most games aren't exciting enough for me to pay more than $40 at most - most of the time I just wait until they're $20.
Games aren't really comprable across generations.

So Vita is twice as much for what is needed for handheld gaming and consequently less attractive? Yep.
And still, PC games don't look 10 times better than current console games.

I trust the experienced game developer probably has a better understanding of their future development costs than you do, saying it's "fantasy land" talk may be borderline ignorant.
Because PC versions of multiplats often account for the least sales and most pirated copies.
It won't mean cheaper games, it will mean greater chances for bigger profits/smaller losses, which may result in more experimental/risky games.
New release game prices won't get any lower on consoles.
Game budgets have peaked so graphical improvements won't be as significant as previous gens; notwithstanding, they will be very welcomed given how low textures quality, shadows, lighting and framerates are currently.
The aforementioned requires turning graphical features on capable cards.
It seems EA has been posting a loss every quarter for a couple years now.
They have so many successful titles, I'm not sure where the money is going? Maybe the execs are just getting paid way too much, or they've already made the investment into the next-gen or they want a loss for tax purposes.
I hope it releases before we start seeing more footage of next-gen games or GTA5 graphically will start looking at lost worse over night.

Everyone just logs in hundreds of hours into their fav shooter and sports games MP or buys sequel number 15 and is too scared to spend money on anything else.
iPhones and iPads have so much more functionality than Vita ever will.

Look 99.9% identical - all 360 games are a bit darker, if they run the same then the obvious choice for me would be the extra content and single disk.
I hate to be that douche that brags about his A/V equipment so I wont, but I can say that high quality sound definitely adds substantially to any gaming experience.
Also, you don't need to spend thousands on A/V receivers and surround sound speaker/subs. When I had little money, I found a high quality ($200plus) set of headphones can make games nearly just as good or better (in some cases) than $1200-2000 7.1 sound systems (if including a/v and sub in price).
