Looks like Motorola was a good purchase.

I'd prefer if it was like nothing else I've every played.

Too late. But it could be worse.

The criticism will get worse when next-gen starts and Wii Us graphics look outdated. But Nintendo doesn't need to care what anyone but Nintendo game fans think; they're the ones buying the systems.

I like Nintendo games but not more than 3rd party and Sony/MS offerings so it would be nice for Nintendo to go the way of Sega and become a 3rd party dev.

For now though, people whose favourite games are Nintendo games will by Wii U and love it, everyone e...

I guess Wii U won't have most of the multiplats in the long-run.

#2 is Red Dead Redemption

Time will tell.

With no free online next gen console option Sony doesn't really risk losing customers. As long as PSN is notably cheaper, Sony will maintain an online price advantage.

Two tiered system with both costing money, PSN plus will still have free games and discounts. Sony cant afford to give online away for free anymore, their losing out on hundreds of millions of dollars in revenues annually.

They can't start charging now as existing customers would be pissed but a new console sort of resets expectations. I'm guessing basic PSN will be half the price of live and PSN plus around the same price.

People can go to PC but...

It's definitely damaged game sales. I used to by 10-12 new $60 releases a year since PS2/Xbox days. About a year and a half ago I felt it was stupid paying full price for last-gen graphics and mostly just sequels, and new IPs often have small budgets making them more A than AAA.

Now I wait a few months and get most of my games for $20-40. I'm never going back to my old spending habits. Maybe I'll by 1 or 2 full price new releases a year, maybe.

God, I hope so. No one else is innovating, they just think better graphics, more multimedia functions and bigget advertisement bugets will be next-gen...it's not, it's just this gen version 2.

I agree, the industry is lacking excitement and game sales are down. Devs don't want to risk big budgets on innovative titles which they seem to do a lot more in the first few years of a new console.

To me, every game release already looks last-gen and isn't worth $60. Since PS2/Xbox1 I used to buy 10-12 new releases a year, that continued this gen until about a year and a half ago. Now I only buy games discounted ($30, $40 max) and I overall buy far less games....

Molyneaux really should just start a PR company instead of being a game developer.

Their wont be a true next gen in gaming until development costs can be massively reduced and high quality games mass produced. That way, the financial risk for creativity won't necessitate playing it safe.

Gaming needs a verifiable printing press.

It won't take long for people to look past the improved graphics and realize that they've played it all before in the preceding 7 years. I don't care how good 2D side scrollers now look, I'm stil...

Nintendo fans will buy it, enjoy the Nintendo franchises and be happy, which is really what gaming is all about - enjoyable experiences. Personally, I don't think Nintendo systems have the best games anymore - 3rd parties make 95% of the best games IMO.

Anyways,

I don't want one, but I want you to enjoy yours.

Are you sure that their not promising 70% off then later withdrawing the offer because too many people used tried using it.

I'm still waiting for my promised discount for filling out their stupid survey. EA can go frap themself.

Sony would be stupid not to charge for online next gen. I'm sure they'll have a two tiered paid subscription model and one version will be much cheaper than Live but still cost money.

Really, it's just 100s of millions of dollars in revenues that they're not capitalizing on. The only reason they haven't charged this gen is because PSN at launch was frankly terrible, and PS3 struggled for the first 2 years. Charging later would have upset existing users to...

Not sure if 360s are smaller files but every system update/game update, demo down load, etc take significantly longer on PS3 (Movies rentals are faster, browser is better, etc on Live) That's not even my main issue with it, PSN is just slower and more cumbersome in every regard especially when communicating with friends online.

I think overall PSN a great fr...
