Excellent price for a CPU,GPU, and RAM upgrade. I game on PC a lot so I see things that way.

Everyone buying a PS4 for the first time should buy a Pro. The upgrade is only $100.
Existing PS4 owners? Not sure, it's a $400 upgrade or $250-300 if you trade in your current PS4.
I don't trust the update either.
My idle temps increased 6 degrees after an update and hasn't gone back down.
I'm sure it's a great console and the games will look much sharper and more detailed due to higher resolutions but most games aren't 4K. People need stop saying it's doing 4k, it's misleading.

If it not actual 4k, please stop referring to it as so. It's PS4 Pro not PS4K. If it's checkerboard 1440p or 3K or whatever, that's cool and will certainly look a lot more sharp and detailed but it's false to call something 4k resolution when it's not.
The Chistian Bale batman movies were pretty good and the first one is generally regarded as one of the best movies in the last 20 years.
If it works and makes games look like they run at a higher resolution then I'd hope that Sony implemented the same tech on PS4 to make 900p look like 1080p and wish Nvidia and AMD update their graphics cards to use it the same feature. I'd love for my 1080p games to look more or less 1440p without the hit in performance.
While I doubt it looks as good as 4k, any improvement in image quality without a hit to performance is great in my opinion

As an original PS4 owner, I don't feel that bad. Wonder if performance shows a bigger difference.
But traditional games would all work with VR. Probably better. Have you tried Vive? It's pretty amazing.
The only similaritie between Kinect and VR is the lack of games. With Kinect, that was due to the hardware being incapable of providing quality experiences due it it being akin to a very inaccurate d-pad controller with no buttons. VR, on the other hand, controls better than traditional pads. It's literally like aiming in real life, even looking down the sites.

Respectfully I disagree, Kinect was a horrible way to control games. I couldn't imagine there being any quality and deep experiences using Kinect as a control method, it was so limited.
VR, however, has amazing potential with every type of game. The experience is truly tranformative and I've the controllers are amazing. The only problems I see are the lack of quality gaming experiences, price, and the visual clarity should be better.
Most fun I've had with an online FPS in a while. And it's free. I've been playing it a lot more than Battlefield 1.
It needs more quality games more than anything.
And a sharper image.

If you don't already have a PS4, the Pro is definitely worth paying $100 more for an upgrade. All first time buyers should just get the Pro, as the upgrade price is only $100. For current PS4 owners, not sure if $250-$300 is worth it (after you trade in your PS4).
It's smart, they need to save the online community (on PC at least) or the game sales will completely die off except for the people wanting to buy it at discount just for the story.
