The best games are designed to be best they can be with no expectation that there will be a sequel, discover people love the game, THEN, adapt the story to a sequel.
The worst games are designed for a trilogy from the start. Each game feels unfinished and the devs rely on their presumed success instead of making an amazing game that has only one shot to be a hit.
You can't call yourself a man if you don't like seeing girl on girl action.
Probably not many. The vast majority of top selling games require online to play a major part of the game. There's still a large market of people able to play a game with an online requirement.
However, why SP requires online only seems silly. At most it should have a check in system where it's required to update a certificate online every 24 hours or something, instead of needing a constant online connection, if that is indeed the case. A SP game should never be u...
Should have released as F2P. People may have questioned why Overwatch cost full price then and Battleborn could have established itself. Battleborn launching at full price just justified OW pricing.
Strangely, the most impressive games I've seen this year are 2-4 year old games running at max settings and 144Hz. A lot of games look amazing when not moving the camera but if framerates aren't high, the image is just incredibly blurry while playing.
I really regret getting a 144hz monitor, even 60 FPS looks choppy and blurry now when just a few months ago it was butter smooth.
Personally, I've had the most fun with Paladins and I've played every major shooter this year. Surprised it's not getting more attention from sites, it's one of the most popular games on PC now
I'm still pissed at them for never fixing the grain bug on Crysis 2 for 360.
I thought Crytek was a highly talented dev prior to that, really enjoyed the Crysis series as one of my favourites then lost all respect for them when they refused to issue a patch to fix it. It ruined the game for me and for some reason all of their games have seemed mediocre since then. They must have burned a lot of customers because I don't think they've had a very popular game sinc...
Not saying he's wrong, but he's still an a-hole meme is perfect here.
lol meant 4
Cool, this is the only one of the "big shooters" released this year that I haven't played.
So far my rank is in terms off favourite MP is:
Paladins >>> BF1/Overwatch > Gears 1 > Titanfall 2
Companies aren't doing "New Generations" any more. It's too risky and too expensive. Marketing alone for new console gen takes years to recoup. Devs don't know whether a console will at all be successful and Sony and MS don't want to do a reset and gamble on regaining their consumer base again. They want the PSN/Live subscription to continue unfettered. It's going to be more like the phone model now with support for the oldest system dropping eventually, but at t...
XB1 totally blew the launch in what is looking to be the perpetual generation where companies don't want to risk losing their Live PSN subscribers with all new generations that reset the console base.
I can confirm that most of N4G said MS was sacrificing the long term gain for short terms profits when it focused so heavily on Kinect. That's when xbox and playstation were roughly tied in sales. Turns out Kinect may have secured Xbox long term loss to playstation.

That CPU/GPU combination would destroy a PS4 Pro in performance.
Consoles are a great value for their performance. You couldn't build a PC from scratch that performs as well as a console for the same price. But if you already have the OS, Case, Ram, etc. and are just upgrading the GPU you can demolish consoles for less money.
A 2500k, which is 6 year old CPU, paired with even a 1060 or 480 still outperforms a PS4 Pro by a lot. And you must add 60 per ...
If a 970, which is a two year old card can do 1440p with FPS avg in the mid 70s on high settings. I would hope Pro could do it's special resolution at 30 FPS using PS4 settings (which are mix med and high) despite the CPU.
You used an entire 1080 for Physx? Total overkill.
Clickbait. You couldn't at least 3 on each page and reserve a last page for the winner. That's a bit more reasonable.
When I see one pick on each page in a top 10 it reminds me of those spam filled sites that pop up on your phone with sensational headlines.
Yay, I'm a failed experiment.
It's consoles, the longer the gen goes on the lower the average framerates get.
I remeber Crysis 2 and 3, TLOU, Dishonored, etc. all had frame rate drops into the low 20s. Better and better graphics on the same hardware eventually results in lower something.
Wow, always heard this guy was a douch but he's actually confirmed it with that text.
How about I avoid all games this guy is associated with. Yep.
I don't need people to agree with me, it's my true felt opinion based on my experience, so for me, I'm absolutely right.
In any event, I doubt many console gamers have even played much at over 100 Hz. For the people that have and don't feel like going back to 30 FPS is incredibly blurry, consider yourselves very lucky. Congrats, ignorance is bliss.
For people that say graphics don't matter, you may want to re-read the title of the arti...
