When sales figures turn out to be poor they wil soon change their minds.
The difference is not negligible at all, it is as significant as that between the Wii U and Xbone GPU.

He told the truth and then AMD PR kicked in to appease Microsoft, the simple fact is Microsoft have purchased a cheaper and less powerful GPU from AMD. AMD know it, Microsoft know it, they just don't want us to know it given that Xbone costs a lot more than PS4.
Ultimately, it's in AMD's interest for Xbone to be as successful as PS4 will be.

The next gen consoles don't even have DX11 GPU's, DirectX is merely a tool to make development easier any feature it adds is something the GPU has to begin with.
What choice did they have? Xbox One would have flopped if they didn't backtrack.
Only reason MS have backtracked is that Xbox One would have flopped, it's better to have consoles in homes and then **** people off with new policies than to start off with the policies and have nobody buy it.
I'm not really surprised as it has a BD-ROM, the DVD-ROM was the loudest part of 360 by far.

Most directors struggle to make good movies with only a single script, it wouldn't be worth the hassle for them to film multiple different scenes, even if they did choices would ultimately lead to the same outcome.

There was a need for analogue sticks and triggers as it improved controller accuracy, there is no need for dancing around in front of your console and shouting at it other than for optional gimmicks.
Most gamers won't buy the Kinect orientated games so developers won't invest the money into developing for it, it will be used for a few gimmicks at most.
Without Kinect Xbone should be cheaper than PS4, it's inferior hardware afterall.

Well they can continue to sell games at a very high cost which is poor value but then they just have to accept that used games/piracy is going to be rampant, people won't waste money on something they see as poor value.
Game prices were set at a time when the gaming industry was FAR smaller with less customers, they shouldn't need to sell games at the same price today to break even, if they do it's because their budgets are way too high.
They just need to release Kinect-less SKU now, only a minority of people will buy Kinect based games and developers will soon stop supporting it.
They need to lower the price of games in every country not just the poor ones, used/pirate games would disappear overnight and sales would probably be multiples higher.
No because I won't be buying one.
Early adopters always get screwed, they pay the most and have fewer games available to buy, that's not even getting into reliablility issues.
The line up over the course of the consoles life span is what really matters and Sony has won that in each of the two previous generations.
