Difference here is it has been proven that Microsoft are in bed with the NSA, Sony are a Japanese company so I trust them far more.
It only works effectively though if your competitor is incompetent enough to keep making mistakes.
He did nothing wrong though, he never signed any NDA agreeing to keep quiet.
If MS want to punish someone it should be the retailer who broke the launch date.
ESRAM is not the bottleneck in Xbox One, the GPU is.
1080P has over TWICE as many pixels as 720P:
1280 x 720 = 921,600 pixels
1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
Now lets compare the GPU's:
FILLRATE
Xbox One:
12.8 Gigapixels/s
PS4:
25.6 Gigapixels/s
Now lets look up what FILLRATE is:
"The term fillrate usually refers to the number of pixels...
Well said, bubble for you.
It's good to see others haven't fallen for the smoke and mirrors tactic of pointing the blame solely at the feet of the ESRAM and the deception that things will improve.
Xbox One does NOT have the GPU power to match PS4, the only games likely to be 1080P are exclusive games with less advanced graphical engines (eg. Forza 5).
The ESRAM is there to boost the DDR3 bandwidth, it cannot make the less powerful GPU in Xbox One render more graphics than it is capable of. Xbox One could have twice the memory bandwidth of PS4 and no complicated ESRAM and it would still be BOTTLENECKED by the GPU.

Where is the controversy? it was to be expected for anyone who payed attention to the GPU capabilities. Whilst everyone got distracted by pointless ESRAM v GDDR4 debates the big elephant in the room was always the huge disparity in GPU power.
720P = 1280x720 = 921600 pixels
1080P = 1920x1080 = 2073600 pixels
So 720P has only 44.4% of the pixels of 1080P, less than half.
Now look at the GPU specs:
ROPs (Render Output...
Didn't GTX780 have GPU compute features disabled compared to Titan?
"This rather proves it's not as much about GPU prowess and more about that terribly sized ESRAM."
No it's not (although the ESRAM compounds problems for Xbone).
When it comes to resolution it is primarily down to GPU power, to push that many pixels and effects you need a powerful GPU which is something M$ have skimped on.
People have been saying that the PS4 GPU is much faster for a while, yet M$ distracted everyone with com...
It looks like the cash Microsoft gave them to make out that Xbone pre-orders were through the roof has run out.....
Anyone who pre-ordered from them is mental, they've been struggling to stay afloat for years.
So they admit that their PS4 footage was poor and they tweaked contrast to compensate and then proceed to spend the whole review talking about PS4 isn't as high contrast.
Yeah I bet this particular leak wasn't intentional at all, just like all the rest of the celebrity leaks..... it's not even really her and she's still getting publicity.
Land of Freedum!
"So this is where Sony cut corners to cut the cost, 5400RPM is just pathetic for a next gen console."
You say that as if you believe Microsoft are using more expensive components, they aren't!
Xbone uses cheaper components than PS4 (eg. GPU, DDR3 RAM), they've skimped on the console massively to allow them to bundle in Kinect without it carrying a ridiculous price tag.
It will be used to store all of the unsold consoles post-launch.
Damn already beaten to it. =(
So a developer who has had nothing to do with PS4 development is being asked about PS4 memory latency? why not just ask Nintendo and do an article on their equally clueless answer?
I play games for the gameplay, not cutscenes, why should I suffer a sub par gameplay experience just so that cutscenes look more movie-esque?
24P is merely 'satisfactory' for movies not ideal, if movies were shot at 48P that would require double the bandwidth (TV) or storage space (DVD).
"When you shoot video at 24 fps, you need to avoid quick pans and tilts because they may cause the image to stutter." - yep sounds ideal for games... not. ...
If PS4 has any frame-rate issues it will be because of the **** CPU, not the GPU.
They would have been better off with a fast quad core.
Still playing the Geoff Crammond games here, besides graphics and official licensing these new F1 games are all rubbish, it doesn't help with the joke F1 has become (DRS/KERS/Pirelli/fuel saving).
Does anyone here still run PC games at 1024*768? I'd wager that most people have moved to 1080P or 1200P... so it obviously matters.
