Times are changing. Action games still tend to fare better, hence the gradual switch to more action oriented gameplay in almost all the horror franchises. I'm really quite surprised when strict horror games reach much mainstream success in the modern market. It's great.

I really wouldn't necessarily want it to sell as well as the most successful entries in the series as the sales haven't always correlated to quality. As long as it's profitable and criti...

It's likely to remain so indefinitely.. if we're talking historical importance anyway.. I can't see how anything would usurp it. You're unlikely to be as influential in a genre that's now really played out and well defined.

"I'm married, with kids, and work 50+ hours a week. I still game ~2 hours a night. "

I can't do that. I have other hobbies and pastimes plus the family/work too, and collecting games is one of them. :)

Windows and Mobile are the sticklers though, it's incredibly easy to accumulate PC games in steam sales etc and I'm glad I do it. I don't have to 100% everything but it's nice to have them there if/when I want them. If I in...

It depends how much you want to complete a lot of games. Even ones I've finished the plot I want to do more in.. some games (elite: dangerous, the sims, minecraft, even NMS) have pretty much infinite replayability.. So it's very easy to accumulate a backlog. Mine's around 500 games in steam and Christ knows how many games if I include previous console generations.. XD there are PS1 games I'd like to complete but know I'll never get around to as I have hundreds of games in ...

They can't admit that it will be as they need people to keep buying the 3DS and the games that are still in development.

If it's a success it'll replace the 3DS. Gen 2 will have a "Switch Mini" option - I'd put money on that, and the 3DS will be no more.

... Yet.

This is clearly a transitional period. Maybe they'll cancel the 3ds a year or two down the line in time for a rev2 of the switch. However and whenever it comes about it's definitely on the cards.

Back to usual.

Nothing wrong with strong female characters, and that can easily be interpreted as feminist. Just because some people see feminism as the bogeyman doesn't mean it's not something completely different to most people. Ed: they make a strong case for considering it a "feminist game" if there can be such a thing, too.

Me: Male, happily married. Proudly identify as feminist while looking out for *equality* and so on. Don't ...

Haha PETA are insane but I can see how their tactics get them in the press constantly. :/

Ah! This is good news. It's technically a pretty impressive game all things considered (a hell of a lot of polygons being thrown about when you model everything with Lego!), and if the Switch runs it without issues that's pretty nice. :)

I'm a vita owner and it appeals to me. :)

It'll be a bit like the vita but (very likely!) with more support, which can't be a bad thing!

A Harry Potter MMO would make sense too.

Part of me wishes they would just to show how that absolutely wouldn't work based on the claustrophobic design. someone will likely mod it into the PC version and it'll be horrible. XD

Great!

.. Now, about the game formerly known as Silent Hills..

There are a lot SJW on DA.

From a critical POV there's a big difference between an indie art creator and producing a game and bringing it to market tho. Most "SJW" are sex-positive and fine with people's kinks and sexuality.. *shrugs* they aren't generally funementalist anti sex prudes.

.. I like the character btw. I just thought I'd chip in as everyone seems to have a different definition for what "SJW" even means.. :)...

I like this design, personally. I can see why some might not. (Im guessing it doesn't make much sense, practically? I've not played the game..) I'm really not surprised there's a lot of fan art. *shrugs* if I could be bothered I'd do some myself. XD

If all characters were like this I'd question it a bit more.. I'd rather the creators just acknowledge they did it because they like butts, as is implied in the tweets than do the hilarious uneccesary...

I'm slightly concerned we may never see such insanely well optimised games again now we're getting hardware bumps to the consoles mid cycle. :(

GTA5 on PS3 is pretty insane.. Compare it to PCs of a similar vintage with similar level specs and it just seems surreal.

I love betas if they help ensure a better finished product.

Certainly beats releasing things before they're ready.

Who gets to define what a flop is? You call NMS a flop despite it getting decent reviews and being one of the top sellers on steam in 2016.

SC has the advantage of being funded largely by the players, I don't see how it's going to flop. They've gone to far for it to suddenly get rushed out the door.

I'm actually really happy about how long SC is taking to make, and how it's scope is largely increasing. Eventually it's going to be very unique.

Only worry I really have is in regards to the multiplayer bits and network concerns.
