Sometimes it's good to be a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond.
Or in this case more likely a medium or small sized fish moving into a small pond.. if you're one of the first with your feet on the ground on a new, moderately successful platform your title will likely get downloaded/bought a lot more than if it was one of thousands of titles on PSN/Steam/Live (well established, overflowing platforms) etc.. Then you use the profits to help...
Great month! I wanted to play both of these and never got around to Costume Quest 2 either. :D
No.. the quality was enhanced by filters available within the game's photo mode itself so it's not exactly the same as photoshopping after the fact. :D
I suspect they're actually using photo mode within the game, which allows a lot of this sort of thing.. So it's in a place where it's still in game graphics, in a way.
The ad really just showed it works for people with busy lives who do other stuff too. it makes sense to target a wide range of people, and it's not like they're not going to do a load more ads for different types of players.
Realistically we need to exceed 4K for VR to be ideal. If that's not practical we'd have a variable resolution and eye tracking, providing higher resolution to where your pupils are pointing, and less in the peripheral vision where naturally you can't see well anyway. One of the prototype headsets was promising this sort of tech, I wonder what happened to that?
The second generation is going to be interesting. :)
I don't think survival horror needs saving but I'm very happy to see the direction RE7 has taken. Lets hope they don't mess it up.
I'm almost certainly going to like it more than RE5 and 6..
Early RE were no more horror than this, just a different type of horror; a random collection of silly mutant creatures and a ton of zombies.
Killer plant and giant snakes, giant spiders, crocodiles, lol.
I'm really glad PSVR is good enough not to put people off VR. :) I'm looking forward to the next gen of headsets personally but if PSVR had been bad then it could've seriously damaged VR's reputation.
Any looking back at the early silent hill games is incredibly bittersweet.. They were amazing.. 2's my favourite too. It's just a shame to think we might never get a comparable game based on similar merits. :/
(I do love Siren as well, but it's pretty different!)
I hate having to think about PT and what could have been, especially now with all the VR everywhere. FFS.
I wonder if MS will port the VR support to the PS4 version of minecraft; it's the perfect place for it in market terms..
Can never tell with MS.. it is very nice on Windows 10 with the Rift.. I wonder how they decide what features will go where.
I love the look of the PSVR but I'm sitting out this generation as a DK2 owner, waiting for resolution bumps. Definitely sold on VR - love it.. just don't have the disposable income to buy multiple he...
I'd have bought one if theyd capitalised on that and made it spoooooky. :D
Now I guess it does get to communicate/ hang out with all the dead consoles in landfill and people's cupboards though. :/
There's going to be limitations when dealing with a closed system. "None of its real" applies to so much stuff but it still gets certification and in some cases bans, etc.
I've watched a bunch of VR porn on my Oculus. *shrugs*.. Research? Lol. Seriously, VR is so weird you want to try as many different things as possible.
(Most of the porn available for VR is terrrrriblllleeee) TBH a DOA VR game could be potentially pretty gross and may ...
That.. Is hilariously unlikely.
Half life 3 confirmed!
Keza is from Kotaku UK which is an entirely different set of people, run by Future Publishing. They cross post articles between countries but they're notably different.
She has a different opinion to someone who works at Kotaku US.
In this case both sides are right anyway.. the review made good points and so did she..
It's noticeable all the time, and will be until they get much higher resolution headsets.
@S2Killinit that's what he meant. Cinema mode has significantly reduce demand picture quality compared to just playing it on your TV. It's unavoidable currently.
Newly formed studio? Lol damnit EA. Buying studios but failing to keep the talent is pretty damn stupid. :/
I wonder if Zuck' was always supposed to be demoing this and not, say.. Palmer Luckey.. Oops. XD
They look like they're glowing lightly blue to me?
