If it’s going to be a better game of VTM itself then hell yes it needs to cater to more character types and scenarios. That’s not feminist nonsense, it’s just a really broad RP game/setting with a long standing tradition of catering to a very diverse player base.

They didn’t need that much redeeming. The journey from release to now has been really fun. Every few months the game has changed in such fundemental ways that you can’t dismiss the experiences players had before the changes.
I’m very glad I got to play it when it was a weird, solo, creepier isolated experience.

I don’t actually see a remake being any better. Just run the PC version with the texture mods and fixes. Any attempt to redo voices etc is going to detract from the surreal wonkiness of it all, like it did with the HD remasters for 360/PS3..
We need new SHs, and rereleases for new systems, I don’t want to see it reimagined. SH2 is still an absolute masterpiece.
Why *wouldn’t* you want to? PCs connect to TVs.. PS4 and Xbox pads work just as well in Windows.

Has anyone made a game where the combat can be switched between either turn based or ARPG?
I mean, it’d be strange and a lot of work but it’d make a lot of people happy and would be great from a usability perspective. A lot of older players prefer turn based, slower tactical play. There are groups of more casual players who’d fall on either side of the ARPG/Turn based issue.
Seems the only way you can maximise the audience is by catering to both groups?...
It’s a odd type of gatekeeping anyway.. I game more than a lot of people and I’ve been doing so since the 80s, but I have no need or want to call myself a gamer - it wasn’t a term we ever used, it wasn’t an identity thing. People I knew just played games..
But if someone was to say I’m not a real gamer - or that I wasn’t qualified in some way, I’d sometimes argue that I was just as much a gamer as they are. 😂 (and have done) basically, it’s a meaningless subjective...

Whoaaaa BB has one of the most cohesive stories in gaming, it’s just delivered environmentally and through things like item descriptions.
And I love it for that.. the implied stuff and the things you have to figure out make it much more immersive to me than movie-like storytelling.
