^GT6 runs in 1440x1080...
On 8 year old hardware...
That's not even remotely the same thing. Very poor comparison.
What you described is just adding new technology to the console which has been available on the PC for years, which is a very good thing. So of course nobody "scoffed" at it.
But what MS was trying to do was restrict used game sales, game trading, have 24 hour check ins, online-only etc. etc. etc.
How blind could you be to not see the difference?
^The only real fanboy is you for not being able to take a joke.
lol genius
It's a cross generation title using the same engine as it always has.
Wait until you see the game engines that have been made specifically for next gen hardware only.
Yup 360 + 720 is 1080
This is all in good fun, but seriously nobody's going to buy a $500 hdmi port. Lol
The gap is going to widen. Once developers start really getting into larger textures, gpu compute, and heavy shader effects.
Lol minor difference in hardware? This is by far one of the biggest gaps in hardware history.
Yeah I could understand them using it to offload calculations, AI, and some physics, but to say they couldn't do 1080p without it is just ridiculous. Resolution, textures, shaders, and other assets are all done on hardware.
This is basically proof Microsoft are still probably talking about it amongst themselves. Waiting for the right time to reintroduce it once the there is a bigger install base.
This really won't be necessary for gaming, but maybe for photo editors and video editors, faster RAM will definitely help.
Oh my god... Just when I start to get into the games on the Xbox1, there's something stupid that comes out and snaps me back to reality why I shouldn't support Microsoft.
"TeH PoWeR of Teh CloUDz" has no f'in effect on resolution.
Brake Horse Power, it's what is measured at the engine and is usually a European term for Crank Horsepower.
Whatever happen to "Play the games, not the resolution" ???
How convenient for people to not care about resolution on certain titles, and then care about other titles.
Ryse, Dead Rising 3, Battlefield 4, COD Ghosts, Titanfall "ZOMG Resolution doesn't matter! You can't tell a difference anyway!"
Forza 5 "OMGGGGGGGGGG 1080p is the best thing ever! It's so smooth and clear! You can definitely see the differen...
Yes we know that, and they lowered the resolution in order to have more GPU power for better effects. The point is that if this was done on the PS4 it would have had all the GPU grunt and faster RAM to maintain that native 1080p resolution while still looking the way it does. Of course though it's a pointless conjecture seeing as how we'll never really know since it won't ever come out on the PS4.
But we do know it's possible because of simple hardware facts o...
I don't want the Xbox business to go away, I just don't want them to be dominate. Hopefully that will drive them to be a better company and start making better products and start thinking about the consumers. That means better hardware, better customer service, and more original first party software support.
All of which I don't see happening anytime soon sadly. Mostly because we have hordes and hordes and hordes of blind followers that eat up everything the sell...
I'm pretty certain everything that has been done with Ryse can be done on the PS4 with the same or better effects with a higher resolution namely 1080p and higher frame rates.
Come on now this is just getting ridiculous. 720p to 1080p is a huge difference. I can tell on my 23" pc monitor and I will definitely tell on my 55" samsung.
Yup, look at super duper clean that damn motherboard is. There are hardly any capacitors on that thing, which makes it super efficient.

Compared to this the Xbox 360 mobo
