If I had invested that much money into a PC and got that response I wouldn't see it as a joke in the context he implied. I would see it as a joke of how people view the industry and making games for the lowest common denominator. Crytek should be concentrating on making sure the PC version runs as smooth as possible and not put all their efforts on the Xbox 360.
He's right, the greedy publishers will continue to pounce on the customer with the main incentive of making money, not pleasing the fan. This is only going to get worse, not better. That's why I have and will continue to be a big supporter of Valve/Steam.
This game is going to be hard to get in my area just like when I was trying to get Demon Souls. Now with all these high scores it might be even harder to get.
They don't force them but as a publisher you would probably want to. People are going to buy a Wii U for the exclusives and the difference gameplay mechanics surrounding the Gamepad. They are not going to buy one to have experiences similar to last gen. hardware and new systems on the horizon that will likely push beyond what the Wii U can do technically.

I liked the original PS3, it had a classy look and feel to it. This new concept looks like a router.
Specs are not the defining point but all the rumors so far point to Microsoft focusing a lot of their attention of the next Xbox being a media hub with lots of RAM dedicated to the OS and the next Kinect. As long as the content I buy through my online accounts are accessible on the new hardware without having to pay a premium, I'm fine with that. It would be nice to play my old disc games too but it's not a must have imo.

After watching the video it is true that Nintendo had to make some major adjustments and coming out with the Wii was a gable that paid off for them. This explosion left Microsoft and Sony fighting over the same market while Nintendo created their own. So while Microsoft and Sony fought over a market that had pretty much stagnated from growth it left Nintendo all alone with a cheaper and more casual system.
