Oh_Yeah, they have done the opposite because they are still a company that needs to show profit margins and not continuous losses like we seen on the original Xbox. What Microsoft has done is take away the perception that Sony is the go to device for multiplatform games. So by aligning themselves with all of these publishers (who make up the majority of games on any Sony gaming platform) they have created parity. No longer are key franchises like GTA being outsold on the Playstation by a 5-1 ...
I'm sorry but I will tend to agree with Nintendo and other analysts out there who have suggested they are losing money.

My views are probably different from yours and many others as well. I don't buy handhelds for serious gaming experiences, be it the 3DS or the Vita. I don't see a game like Uncharted: The Abyss something that is of $40 value when Uncharted on the PS3 for $60 to me adds so much more immersion and value to it. I know I will get many disagrees but that is just my own opinion. I see handhelds as a portable device to take on the road and to occupy my time in small segments. I use my consol...
Gribble is another user who truly believes PS3 owners are vastly different than Xbox 360 owners. That simply isn't true no matter how he and some others want to segregate the two communities. Call of Duty is the top selling franchise on both platforms, nothing else really needs to be said other than Japan is the key exception. Those gamers are unique because those gamers have shown with their wallets they will not support the Xbox brand. They account for roughly 12-15% of all PS3 owners. ...
People who put M$ instead of MS already have issues. So we are already heading down a very biased and opinionated road. Sony does have a walled garden, they all do. Nintendo is probably the most closed off.
Microsoft's Rare put a game on the DS. They are also allowing IOS support. Sony is supporting Android. Nintendo refuses to do anything like that. But both Microsoft and Sony can do better and be more open. Sony has proprietary memory cards for Vita, Microsoft had a pr...
Both Sony and Microsoft are apparently also trying to make things seem similar across various platforms. So if your in Sony's world that operating system may be familiar on a smartphone, Vita or PS4 and perhaps even the computer and tablets. Microsoft is doing the same with the Surface, Windows X and the upcoming Xbox.
That is one key area Apple has over Android, a universal operating system that is familiar with all of their customers. It's something Sony and Microso...
Microsoft needs to get real in many areas.
1. They need to realize they have to do better outside of the U.S.A.
2. They have to provide a free way of playing games online. Not to try and cover up that feature with apps and other non-gaming perks.
3. Kinect is not a core experience gaming application. It can add extra immersion but not to be treated as something games must have.
4. Investment in new ip's and let your game ...
Considering the Gamepad is going to retail for $150 I think they are losing money. The PS3 and Xbox 360 sell for roughly $200-$250 and the Wii U has better specs in some areas.
What Nintendo should do to counter all the hype about the upcoming PS4 and Xbox 720 is to drop the price a few months before those systems launch, not now. That way they will have a better idea of their pricing. You can't counter those hardcore gamers who will buy the new systems no matter what bu...
You're right, those games were also a disappointment on other systems. Flamebait article.
There are some fun games on those platforms so lets not get ahead of ourselves. In fact many of those games like Jetpack Joyride are available on the PS3 and Vita and sell quite well on those platforms as well.

Just because they are not hardcore experiences doesn't...
Sony does indeed have exclusives that sell well. To me anything above 2 million is good. Little Big Planet, God of War, Gran Turismo, Killzone, even Heavy Rain sold over that I believe which is quite an accomplishment for a unique title like that.
We need to give credit to Sony for at least taking chances and not solely relying on known franchises. Of course some of the games could have used better marketing and I think they now have steps in place to do just that.
I said it when Sony acquired Gaikai that it would be in Sony's best interest to use this technology to stream games and lock it to the PS+ model. That keeps costs down for the PS4 hardware and they don't have to worry about having backwards compatibility. It could also be used for PS2 and PSOne games. It also boosts PS+ memberships. This is something that Microsoft should do as well to make Xbox Live more appealing to justify its fees IMO.
Lol. It's the name of the game, not some hacker trying to put a virus on the system.
I go to M Rated movies and I don't hear anyone swearing their heads off. How do you even know if the people playing those games are really of age? That's one of the problems right there.
We live in a society where the parenting now comes in the form of a TV and game console with kids growing up thinking they are entitled to everything.
There is also a huge difference between someone swearing randomly and someone being very aggressive with their langua...
Hope so. The PSOne was my favorite system of all time, even liked it more than the PS2. I think Sony learned a lot from the PS3 and are ready to take the competition head-on.
I doubt it will be a launch title but it looks more and more as though it will now be coming to the PS4. That could explain why we haven't seen much in the past couple of years.
The game looked amazing and this is the type of game that needs to come out when the install base is higher and the system settles in.
Well let's hope it's fun to play, that's the main thing.
The jump out comment is actually pretty good but the yoga one isn't since Sony is also trying to tap into the casual market with games like Wonderbook, Singstar and Just Dance.
To me when these companies start digging in the dirt it shows signs of weakness. Jack Tretton called the 3DS a baby-sitting device. Why? Well it's because they seen it as a threat and it is. It's outselling Vita by a large margin.
Aaron Greenberg for Microsoft is one of th...
You can and you should. The industry thinks there needs to be winners and losers to sell headlines. Problem is that attitude trickles down to the forums. I take it all with a grain of salt.
It's not out yet but it seems people are not willing to give it a chance for whatever reason. Not sure why other than maybe Sony loyalists feel betrayed or they have so much hate against EA it clouds their judgement.
“Frostbite’s a great engine, no question about it, but as a company we have placed a lot of value in developing our own tech, because it gives us more creative opportunities in terms of how we support our games. We’re not locked in to another company’s constr...
