Yea it is a tough call. The Wii sold a lot of units, thus, surpassing that may take time. I do, however, think that the WiiU has the potential to out sell the Wii. The controller has so many features, and all of those "casuals" that you mentioned can still use all their old Wii peripherals on the WiiU.
If the price of the WiiU is reasonable, then i can see it surpassing the Wii sales mark.

Nintendo is awesome, but if they hold out until next year to announce anything new ill freak out. I want to know more about the WiiU. I want to know the fate of Xenoblade/Last Story US release. I want to see more HD Zelda.

Love Nintendo, but, they didnt deserve to win anything. Lets just be honest. No new "quality" games. Skyward Sword will be awesome; Kirby will be better than Epic Yarn. But those games arent coming out until the holidays. And it is the same story for 3DS titles.

From what ive read all 3rd party devs are excited about the WiiU. All of have said that it is significantly more powerful than the PS3. Oh well, all will be revealed soon enough.
