Well, I think gta6 deving could be going smoother, too
I think Demons Souls set the groundwork for Dark Souls…. Dark Souls is just easier and more developed, like most sequels. Demons Souls has looping levels, punishing mechanics, and stresses boss fights consistently throughout. They are more similar than different, and one came first.
How about you go ahead and make a better multiplayer game?
CoD sucks. It doesn’t deserve the sales it gets every year. It only gets those sales because nobody has competed with them besides Battlefield.
BF1 gave CoD a scare. If they didn’t follow up with the flops of 5 AND 2042, then the sheep might’ve finally seen the light.
We can’t depend on EA to be consistent enough to beat the consistently mediocre CoD.
But, ...
My list:
1) Demon’s Souls - set a trend for Souls games
2) Amnesia - set trend for survival horror
3) Doom - set trend for arcade FPS’
4) Arkham Asylum - set trend for OW combat
5) Hitman 2 - set standards for sandbox levels
6) MGS1 - set trend for stealth mechanics
7) LoU - set trend for games not necessarily being “fun”, and for (trying to) eliminating ludonarrative dissonance from the violence in a game’s story.
I think they are only making it because it was promised/sold already with pre orders.
They’d cancel it if they could manage a mass refund…
How about just ANY flagship titles.
Asking for any based on a specific franchise feels delusional at this point.
8 most difficult modern/3D games (imo):
1) Ninja Gaiden Black
2) Vanquish (hardest difficulty)
3) Doom Eternal (Ultra Violence)
4) LoU Part 2 (Grounded)
5) Rainbow Six Siege (Ranked)
6) DMC5 (Heaven of Hell)
7) MGSV (no reflex mode or enemy markers)’
8) God of War 2018 (Give Me God of War difficulty)
If you played Part 2, then you wouldn’t be pointing to the lack of MP as evidence that the game was half finished.
Part 2 delivered more content after 5 years than Halo Infinite delivered after 10 years and $500 million.
P.T.
Using supports devs is different from changing leadership.
They are still committing to output, unlike some…
I recommend Hell Divers, Nex Machina, and FighterZ. Dirt is good too.
Konami has either been asleep at the wheel during the golden remake era, or they genuinely don’t believe in themselves enough to make remakes that’ll meet the same standards of the originals.
Couch coop for Halo was literally the feature that propelled the ENTIRE Xbox franchise before Live began, and probably accidentally fostered a market for something like Live. People coughed up $5 a month because they quickly appreciated how it was an expansion of couch coop and LAN parties.
I know Live has made LAN parties pretty obsolete, but I hate how M$ still doesn’t appreciate the power of couch coop amongst their specific player base. It’s probably more important to...
“I was gonna get a ps5, but then the retail price went up $50…. I guess I’ll get an XsX with GP instead…”
Said literally nobody, ever.
Console please?
I think it sold very well on PC, but I wonder how their console sales compared.
That was early in GP history too, maybe M$ paid too much (because they can) to get a great game in the mix early on?
Hades was definitely one of the highest profile games to come to GP. I just have doubts that M$ will always splash the pot like that
Lol the only games that come to Game Pass are:
1)M$ owned games (Redfall and High on Life)
2)Games that don’t expect or didn’t get great sales, so they need to recoup their investment (Guardians of the Galaxy)
Callisto Protocal devs would likely prefer category 1 over 2, but M$ is also likely hoping they can make an argument to them that they are category 2.
I’d expect them to sell well, and I doubt they’ll take a check pre-lau...
I don’t think they need extra years to set up mtx x revenue streams.
They need those years to push boundaries. Just because the new tools make development easier doesn’t mean it is easier than it was 10 years ago. The new tools just help mitigate newer headaches, so that dev time doesn’t continue to grow.
If we got a great game for every new UI over the years, then I wouldn’t need a ps5.
