I wouldnt call the franchise ruined, thats gonna depend on how D4 turns out for me. It is a huge letdown and doesnt really make me optimistic for D4 though. They had a really good chance to create a cool mobile game that sets a good example for other mobile games to follow, but handing it to Netease guaranteed that wasnt going to happen. D4 is gonna be the make or break for me, i skipped this garbage anyway (and its banned here).
didnt see that coming. I love the souls games but i would also like to see them try something different again.

I just really dont get how its deflecting, in 99.9% of all the games theres an optimal way to play. It's not only (a problem) in fighting games. Yes its optimizing the fun out of it, but when you compete i see no reason to do anything else besides whats optimal.

@lex deflection? almost all games have a certain way thats optimal, has nothing to do with deflection mate, its just the way it is. You can play skyrim with a flowchart if u want to finish it as fast as u can and the same goes for almost every game.
thats also why i prefer smash bros over any fighting game, it has so much variables that flowcharts are not that useable. and why do u think flowcharts promote a certain move to counter another? because its optimal.

as if gatekeeping and cheating only happens in fgc? It happens in almost every competitive environment. My experience with it has been very positive with it at least. If you cant stand some trashtalking it is probably better not to engage with it though.

@sully its an artistical choise not to do it. Personally i prefer not to have it in my single player open world rpgs where i can create my own character. If its something with a premade character like witcher, sure then i want it.

I just see no reason for them to do this on purpose except if it was some rogue employee with bad intentions. Its just a bit sad that no mistakes can ever be made without people jumping the gun. Maybe im giving them the benefit of the doubt too much, but just like you there is no certainty at all.
