Steam is more of a store with some really good features that ocasionally makes games, than a platformholder in my eyes. They barely make any new games like they did in the 90's and early 2000's. Also they're not relying more or less on "third party" which is still weird to say when it comes to steam. The games that they do update are pretty big cash cows
