Seems to be status quo for Xbox studios these days.
The should also make an Xbox OS that can run on all the new AMD handles that have released with Win 11 Home.
This quote is getting overblown big time. We can already see the dumb console warriors wringing their hands in wait to throw it back out and say whatever Naughty Dog does is sh!t.
It was an obvious result. It's what happens on any platform that basically gives away the content for cheap or free. You can't blame the customer for waiting for a game to be placed behind the subscription service or wait for the deep discount weeks later because it failed to track.
If we mean non-RE type games when we say AAA Horror then the answer is easy the ROI is too risky and at 100-200 million budget its not worth the gamble as the pool of potential buyers is not enough to justify production.
Microsoft Xbox as grown and spent too much for it to service just a small group of Xbox gamers. Games Pass for the past 3 years as had flat growth. The potential base of core gamers that would even sub to a service such as Games Pass not being large enough to offset costs they need to go wide. Microsoft Xbox future as always been to become a publisher of games for all platforms which aligns with how all their other businesses are run. Only the worst of the worst console warriors suffering fro...
Since that message was sent to Sony Interactive Entertainment employees it might not necessarily translate to a showcase for the public but just another message for them. Here is hoping..
Looking at the financially history its been spotty even though their games have seen okay reviews. Before getting purchased they were forced to become a smaller guerrilla style studio using tech to compensate for size while still aiming to make AAA games (HELLBLADE 1) on a budget. So the studio does falls into the same bucket as Tango and Arkane Austin, they make games people tend to like but no one buys them until they're on a fire sale. Likewise, key leadership roles have also departed ...
Would be funny is P3 nuked his account temporality as a joke.
Anyone after seeing the first reveal of this title could have foreseen this outcome. Another red flag was that the leadership that started the studio all left before the games release. One possible way for this to have worked would have been to release a traditional single-player / co-op story game at around 8-12 hrs. for a price of $39-49.99 and then have kick-ass story pack add-ons like issues of a comic book. This falls in line with properties that are mainly story driven content. Trying t...
People are not going to like it but maybe sell the games first at normal price and then after a point make it available on Games Pass after a price adjustment to off-set the new acquisitions costs they face. Maybe a new tier of Games Pass called Games Pass Day One at $24.99 and $34.99 including PC. And keep the current service at the same price but have the new bigger profile games that can be "sold" come 6 months to a year later.
It might be too late to back tra...
To become the premier 3rd Party software producer on all platforms that also makes it's own hardware. It will basically follow the same production flow like the rest of Microsoft's businesses. Microsoft makes Windows, Office and all of its other applications run on in-house Surface PCs - Laptops, however, it's software is also made available to all other manufactures of computers and software vendors alike. If MS can work with Apple to release Office etc. they sure can work with N...
That stinks but with a 68 average critic rating on their games probably made it difficult for people to invest considering there is a bloat of games getting made these days.
Pure turn-based games seem like a thing from the past when devs were trying to do something more cinematic but could not.
Xbox future is to publish everywhere. Microsoft will follow their mobile and office software playbook to be successful.

Corporations turn out to be a capitalist organization whose concern is to extract money from the consumer base for its shareholders and are not your faithful friend.
The multiple PC store launcher conversation is lame but if the store provides cross buy then by all means go for it.
Could be one of the first PS5 Pro optimized titles.
Paying extra for early access has been around for some time now. Microsoft has been doing this with Games Pass, they say that all games are available day 1 with Games Pass. However, that is not actually the case as many titles are sold sooner with a more expensive option being the ultimate or limited version as was the case with Starfield. EA is also guilty as is Sony and many others. Paying extra for TRUE day 1 has become a staple already and no one is going to put that genie back in the bot...
Maybe they should talk more, but the truth is that half the games shown during the Xbox showcase are also on Playstation day one or PC. At the end of the day anyone that wants access to these games can get it.
