Classic story of putting the cart before the horse.
This thing gets a lot of publicity but sales seem low when compared to traditional PC and console sales which are multiple million sellers. Last counts had it selling worse than the Wii-U but then it's additive for Steam so they also don't need it to be a high-volume product.
It would be interesting to see if people that are totally against have the fortitude to keep the wallets closed if this rumor does turn out to be true. Rockstar should just breakout the Online game as its own paid product for $39.99 and keep the single-player/ co-op or whateveter as the standard price if they wanted to squeeze out some extra cash.
Xbox's home grown initiatives have performed mediocre to badly as well but fortunately parent company Microsoft was able to float them 100 billion dollars to acquire studios so that they could get a modicum of success. Unfortunately, this as resulted Xbox overextending itself and are now forced to become a 3rd part publisher to survive long-term.
Respect.
Wow, blast from the past thought this was canceled.
Good hopefully cheating will be normalized.
Let's be honest the entire games industry is moving towards AI upscaling to handle the performance drop-off so other than the stigma of fake frames this won't be an issue for 95% of people getting the new cards. If you already have a high-end graphics card you should probably wait at least for the next get i.e. 30 series get the 50 and 40 series wait for 60 series. Most people are not MLG or eSports people that need these cards.
Ghost of Tsushima has surpassed 13 million copies so if Assassin's Creed Shadows can manage to sell like AC Valhalla then it will but if it sells like AC Odyssey then it will fall short.
Intersting to see if Sony has decided to move up their plans to release now in 2026.
The upcoming layoffs indicate otherwise.
Just like FSR and DLSS these scaling technologies, unless abandoned, which is highly unlikely, will continue to get better and better until something greater comes along and replaces it.
Yikes and there were reports of more layoffs coming too. They cannot go 3rd Party publisher fast enough.
Wonder how many more people from the 30+ studios they purchased are going to lose their livelihoods.
Now that all devices are an Xbox there should be no issues playing the games on those devices.
No, it's not too late if the game is a banger and the millions of AC fans come out to play and purchase it day one. Will it be enough to swing the tides overall at Ubisoft to save them from a buy out or IP sell off I don't think it will as sales will be slow.
The series has run its course and it's time to move on to something new.
Cool stuff, looks like Microsoft is going over a good amount of cross platform games, wonder if any new titles will be announced.
Was there any news about flashing the Windows version w/ Steam OS.
It's a perfect strategy only if the dev costs were low for the remake and they got a good pay day upfront otherwise sales for this will be very low.
