Makes sense since Sony spent money with them as a partner. We also see the inverse when MS partners with someone on a game promotion.
One is a single-player fantasy epic and the other is a pseudo Games As Service multiplayer dungeon crawler. Totally different types of games, if each game is good because of its own merits, people will make the purchase. If the MS / ABK deal doesn't get in the way of Diablo it too will sell just fine.
Wow, a fair and reasoned statement. However, I still think that MS has so much money to spread around on this deal for it not to go through in some shape or form.
The decision is with the different trade organizations now as to whether it gets approved with concessions or denied.
Probably for the best to end the storyline after the disappointment of Halo Infinity to do anything interesting other than basically resetting the table with Chief and Cortana. With Infinity, it seems like the story has finally run its course creatively, and it's time to put it to bed to work on something else. Since the multiplayer will keep going it's no biggie.
Sounds more like the executive wants to cash in on stock value since MS overpaid above market value.
Did anyone doubt that a trillion-dollar company would not throw its weight around and make the deal happen regardless?
Gen 5 is barely out yet and Devs don't even use the max speeds that is available to Gen 4. Let's keep the fear-mongering in check.
Nailed it! Before this potential deal, there were no thoughts of time limits on a COD being anywhere. Now all of a sudden there are limits and potential countdown clocks for it to be removed. Love how Gabe doesn't give two sh!ts about MS games being on his platform. They are either available or they are not at this point MS needs Steam more than Valve needs their games.
Because the voting body got the game about a month ago.
Early reports seem to point to an id10t error on the user's part for not securing the cabling properly according to spec. Although if the tolerances are so touchy NVidia could be in for some recalls if the problem becomes widespread and property and or individuals get hurt.
it's beginning to look a lot like GOTY.
It's good that this mentions the entirety of the deal and focuses on the games industry at large. It was always odd that the conversation just became a fan war involving Sony and Call of Duty when it affects the whole present and future games industry and there are many games involved.
Interesting enough that Microsoft already was guilty of making a developer gimp a game on a competing platform in Psychonauts 2. They made Double Fine shelf a native PS5 version to benef...
If this is to show the disproportion in the size of the gaming audience of how Microsoft is smaller than Sony in gaming. Then Microsoft forgot to include PC gaming and their Cloud gaming which they control because of Windows and that dwarfs most console numbers.
This seems like a narrow view just focusing on the present console market. The CMA endeavors to look at future potential harm as such with Microsoft having billions of Windows PCs and being the top third in Cloud computing with Azure. It's conceivable to see how a new company entering the market or a current smaller company being frozen out by a trillion-dollar company threatening to buy out the majority of the top publishers & franchises and then forcing a singular platform.
If it means cross-buy and trophy support don't really care.

This is a timed exclusive which has been around forever and not just in the games industry. However, Microsoft does need to defend against potential monopoly claims so all spin is good. It's just good business imagine paying millions to market or even co-produce a title and then you get undercut on a competing platform.
If rumors are to be believed isn't Microsoft going to buy him out once the ABK deal is finalized. But it not surprising for a company that's all about the dollar more than most.
Just RPG as the term JRPG no longer has the same meaning it once did as creators from around the world have replicated the same gameplay mechanics for years now.
