I disagree with the notion that many people felt Halo needed "modernization". I think MS and their focus testers felt it needed modernization to counter the emergence of COD, But really it needed to excel within its niche. That's what Halo fans wanted it to do.
Actually, It's not uncommon for a new technology to start at the high end and then work its way down to a mass market price and spec.
Sony didn't really have this option because they are locked into their spec and console userbase.
Not really mixed reviews. Everything's been between 70 and 100, so it's all concentrated in "positive"
The campaign does seem to be where any divergence of opinion takes place.
People say this. But when you watched randoms playing at Gamescom, they were reacting similarly.
Man this game sounds badass! It'll live and die on the strength of the community. Hopefully LFG and crossplay ensure a nice population.
Controller software can be updated on consoles. There have been several software updates to xb1 controllers.
@red_renegade
Until there is a law that does have consoles in mind, there are no grounds to sue.
As it stands, it isn't illegal to distribute emulators. Period.
@red_renegade
The law is the law. It doesn't change depending on if a device is classified a PC or console.
MS probably took the app down due to public perception and the ramifications of setting a standard of emulating rival hardware... Not because they feared getting sued.
Sue who? It's not the emulator that is illegal. It's the distribution of ROMs that is illegal.
There are several emulators in the Win10 store (including this one) that have been there for a while.
Any company that has tried to sue to stop the distribution of an emulator has failed in court.
We know that Sony has been said to be in support of it for a long time.
We also know that when MS finally came on board, Sony has been hesitant to actually allow interaction with XBL. We know that Sony is the reason Rocket League doesn't have it.
No reason to feel shafted at all. Bigger playerbase is good for anyone who owns it.
It's not about his pro-trump involvement. It's about him sponsoring an org that tows the line between trolling and hate speech
Unlocked framerate and 4K native resolution is a big difference... But FH3 does look amazing on Xbox one.
Now clearly, playground didn't add any extra geometry or effects to the PC version, so they are similar in that way. This IS a port of an xb1 game to PC, not the other way around.
Apex and killer Instict say hello
I don't think VR is an immediate threat. Developers still haven't figured out how to make great VR games...
If there is a VR killer app on PC within the next year, Scorpio will likely be able to handle the port.
I don't think there will be much catching up to do. I just read a report that said new sales of VR hardware has basically come to a halt. Price and the lack of a killer app is holding it back.
PSVR might spice things up a bit, but there still is no must have game--- not even a Wii sports gimmick to push unit sales.
MS has a year to monitor the situation and secure software for their UWP platform. When Xbox gets into VR, you can be sure it'll supp...
Missing enormous value? I only want Cod4, but I have to pay $80 bucks to get it along with a game I have no interest in.
He didn't say HE was opressed. He said black people all over the country are opressed.
Huh? I think the people who do want a sequel DID buy it.
I kinda wish 343 would have taken the coalitions approach to taking over a franchise
