They've just finished TLOU, making a game is not like scrambling an egg...
GT5 + prologue sales (16m) already surpassed the GT4 + prologue (13,1m).
“........, the fact it doesn’t have an OS such as Windows on it taking up MUCH of the system resources, leaving us developers access to pretty much the entire hardware, meaning we can do more at with better performance than an equivalent PC spec.”
Uhmm, don't blame the article, the dev said that, it's just an opinion. I take it that he meant is the CONVENIENCE in developing game for PS4 is a "high-end PC standard"
High End PC or not, i don't care i want a system good enough for affordable price and games! yeah games!
I don't know how many PC fanboys seem cynical -cmiiw- about consoles. Are they just jealous that so many AAA games released exclusively on consoles?
I personally want to buy high end PC (not that high actually), but not for playing PC games, but playing emulators, playing Xenoblade and Dragon Quest VIII in HD is still in my dream.....
Sega, regain your loss by bringing Yakuza 1 & 2 HD and 5 to the west...
SASUKE.
Dragon Quest VIII HD please!!!
I consider myself not a fanboy, but gaelic's concern is not impossible afterall. I really hope that the best console (the one which has better performance) may win. Not being held back by the lazy devs or console maker's policy.
I heard rumours that MS only allow 3rd party games to be licensed on Xbox360 only if it's a better version than the competitors. Whether it's true or not, i don't want Sony or Nintendo to have similar policy.
Not only lazy developers, it's also a Sony's mistake to be fair. Ken Kutaragi is an engineer at heart, he overlooked that gaming is "still" an industry.
Three words : cost, competition, customers. Sony (Ken) seemed to forget that.
True, although i've built love towards western games this gen, i still feel emptiness without high quality Japanese games.
Installer base may not be the "real" issue here. The real issues are :
- The release date of PES (usually Q3) is almost near the launch of PS4/X1, so expect the tight competition of which games people buy during the launch.
- PS4/X1 launch only confirmed (until now) for NA/Euro, where the gamers usually prefer Fifa
So, maybe the effort for porting (and -don't forget-localizing) PES for X1/PS4 may not be worth for the moment.
By gameplay-wise, i am not impressed. But i'm kinda interested in the setting, ancient Rome.
Sony's Santa Monica should stop making God Of War, they better start making game about hero/anti-hero-Kratos-like based on other mythologies....Rome, Mayan, Egypt, etc....
I don't think we ourselves don't have "turn-off" option. If we don't have it now, then i think Sony will implement it in the future along with Firmware updgrade or something...
I'm curious about Quantum Break and Crimson Dragon, but not THAT jealous though.....
It depends on the design and the presentation of the game itself.
Games like Heavy Rain used QTE as one of the main element-no problem here-.
Some games are presented better to include QTE (Shenmue, GOW, Heavy Rain),
and some games aren't (QTE in Ninja Gaiden 3 and Ninja Blade turned out to be very annoying).
As for Ryse, i can't comment yet, haven't tried it.
Imagine, if only MS didn't release kinect back then, and now they offer kinect built-in Xbox One, i think it will make hype like Wii did.
Maybe we're gonna say PS4 is like conventional console and Xbox One is like console of the future...
Nope. I'd rather buy Wii U after PS4. The reason is Xbone exclusives are not my kind of game and the others are multiplatform.
I'd still buy PS4 even if Xbox1 costs the same as PS4 with Kinect in it.
I'm a gamer, not some gadget enthusiast, so my value is in the exclusive games. Sony's exclusives games are better suited to me than Xbox1's. Combination of Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream, Santa Monica easily beat Halo, Titanfall, Forza, and the others...
I'm talking about Sony's reputation in making better hardware quality.
To tell you the truth.
I bought X360 in 2009 because of JRPG exclusives line-up, but i didn't buy until Jasper came out.
And i bought PS3 months later in 2010, because of Yakuza 3 and i knew i don't need to worry about RROD.
And you're right about CoD is on PS3 too, in my brain, Xbox360=fps, meanwhile PS3 exclusives offers variety of games.
No Yakuza 5 western localization announcement really make me desperate...
