Yes, the graphical performance on Xbox was the one i dreamed since PS1 era when i thought 3D is great, but still many flaws here and there, even PS2 still has jaggies everywhere.
And then Xbox came with DOA3 and Ninja Gaiden. I said "this is what i've been waiting for!"
I think you are right, eSRAM exist (maybe) only to compensate slower DDR3. Maybe it doesnt have anything to do directly with graphic performance.
It's not the same as PS3's Cell advantage we heard 8 years ago which turned out to be true.
Practically/theoritically we haven't found X1's advantage over PS4 yet.

I don't think buying exclusivity is the way Sony doing business. They don't and didn't do that before as i remembered.
They are quite confident and spend more money by investing in 1st party studio.
And i think most gamers agree that's the right thing to do.
Because we love games that aren't available on PC....
I can't substitute my love for Yakuza or Uncharted series for 1080p 60fps ultra setting COD for PC....

I don't think this kind of game really take benefit from 60fps. Even 30fps is more than enough.
Actually "the law of diminishing return" has been maxed for me this gen.
In the PS1 era i wanted more (graphically), so did in the PS2 era. But everything changed in the PS3 era when i don't really want/need more, even after having seen FFXV trailer.

I agree that Xbox One has the better exclusivity announced (not on launch date) so far. But i trust in Sony in delivering great games later.
In addition, i never interested in Halo, Forza, or Dead Rising. The last game shocked me that it actually liked by many people.

Consoles's success mainly because of the game library they have satisfied the customers by taste or quantity, price is not that important.
So if someone buy Xbox One just to play Titanfall or Dead Rising i can understand, just like i bought Xbox classic just to play Ninja Gaiden.
My deep respect Sony for supporting their console until the very end of generation.
