I have a feeling, while the gameplay definitely wull be fun, the story will be average despite having interesting character design.

Too many good games on PS2/XB/GC/DC era. But only a few people had those 4 consoles at that time.
I think all blockbuster games from PS2/XB/GC/DC (and Wii) deserve HD remasters. They're too beautiful, but their graphic & performance quality deserve more than the consoles are capable of displaying.
Personally I really want DQVIII to be remastered HD on consoles, so i can say "this is just what i wanted 10 years ago!".

Playing Tales, Tekken, Final Fantasy, on Xbox feels weird to me, the same can be said playing Mass Effect, Bioshock, on PlayStation.
PS4 is having highly anticipated games that make people believe they will play those games eventually, much like PS2 in the past.
i remember back in the 1999 looking at screenshots of ZOE, The Bouncer, FFX, Tekken Tag and thinking to myself "if i have PS2 i can play these games".
The same recipe applied on PS4 now...and it still works even within the competitive environment. That's it...the recipe is "always make people anticipating". ...
The price doesn't lie, the leap you're hoping for is theoritically need PS4 to be priced at more than $500 (core system only no additional like kinect, etc).
With PS4 $ XBO now, you got the best valued videogaming machine at around $400. Both MS and Sony realized, $400 is the sweet spot so that the system can sell well.
While i prefer Vanquish 2, my bet is on the Bayonetta 2 multiplatform.
