David Jaffe's original version of GoW3 would have put you against Odin. The whole game was supposed to be a battle against other gods looking to take Zeus' newly-vacated throne, since it was planned for you to kill Zeus right in the beginning. You would have fought against Norse, Egyptian, etc., as they came forward to take his place. It was to explain why old gods are disregarded as myth in modern times. Because Kratos killed them all.
They're only doing it to keep you using Origin. Demand your refund.

A lot of people think Activision is the worst offender in the industry today, but I think it's most definitely EA. Activision sells a copy/paste shooter every year with a couple of overpriced map packs. EA ruins good franchises I actually care about.

The "don't like it, don't buy it" line of thinking is so foolish. What you do has an impact on everyone else. If you keep rewarding these people with your money, they're gonna keep taking more and more away from the vanilla game to sell as "extra content", regardless of me or my friends abstaining. All I know about GameSpy is that I had to sign up for an account with them to play Borderlands through Steam, and it was awful.
