You'd think so, but they're not the first to do this. Every time someone does, the same exact thing happens. People can't access the product they just paid for, and the internet goes into attack mode. Knowing this, EA still decided to push it into SimCity. I'm sure they won't be the last.
Yeah. Even activation limit DRM is declining. I think Rockstar and Warner Bros. are two of the biggest remaining offenders.
Digital rights management. Trash that publishers jam into games to punish paying customers for the potential of piracy. Usually it's used for activation limits (SecuROM, TAGES, etc.). Always-on DRM is uncommon. Ubisoft used to do it for their PC games, until a big enough backlash made them remove it.
You don't ruin always-on DRM. Always-on DRM ruins your games.
Boss fights would have been silly in this Tomb Raider, since it tried to take a more realistic path. Boss fights for the sake of boss fights can drag a game down.
Jack Tretton already said $60.
I'm not always wrong, but when I am, I'm Michael Pachter.
Half the time? You're being too generous. He really has something like a 95% failure rate. It's quite astonishing. Your average N4G user gets it right a lot more often than him.
Yep. Bloggers and feminazis perpetrated the "controversy". Gamers defended CD.
A Microsoft employee got banned from Gaf for trolling GT5 and praising Forza.
Agreed. Had no idea who this person even was until N4G got its panties in a wad over her. They've delivered her a resounding victory on a platter by talking about her so much.
Feminists give women a bad name. Like vegans and vegetables. Or hippies and weed.
I think the real comparison is going to end up being between Tomb Raider and The Last of Us. Tomb Raider is much more gritty and survivalish than Uncharted.
TressFX takes too big a hit on my mid-range GPU, but I've still been playing on ultra without it, and it looks wonderful. Posted a bunch of screens on the forums here.

So they have no intention of earning back anyone's trust right now, but maybe later if things get even worse.
90% sure it's gonna be a patch.
They also twisted Mass Effect 3 ending outrage into a PR line. I saw it in some ad email they were spamming people with. Rustled its fair share of jimmies over at BSN.
It was something like; "THE MOST TALKED ABOUT VIDEO GAME ENDING OF ALL TIME!"
@357 - Steam sales do more to combat piracy than any 3rd party DRM ever will. It always gets cracked and fosters nothing but resentment among paying customers.
My thick what?
The whole point was that gods from other cultures came forwards to replace Zeus as god of the gods. The creator of GoW, David Jaffe, wrote the 3rd game to play out like that. Not me. Man, you're thick.
Had no idea this series originated on the Wii. Thought it was a PC thing.
