Yeah, megatextures were a talking point for Rage. Nothing new. It didn't even look good in Rage, either. At a distance the game was pretty. Within a meter or two, PS2 city.
I also think there are some legitimate shills on this site. It's mostly fanboy peons who could only dream of being paid shills, but once in awhile you'll find one that can actually write, carry a conversation, and distract.
Had that game-breaking bug. Glad they fixed it as fast as they did.
Well I'm glad that games matter once again to the Xbox crowd. I've been wondering what you guys do on that for the last few years.
I want it to not be like Mirror's Edge 1. I wanted to like that game a lot more than I did.
Has he said "the infinite power of the cloud" yet? That's paid confirmation.
Why? Why do we need camera gimmicks mucking up our games? I'm thrilled that Sony cares about as much as I do about the PS Eye.
I'm not so paranoid that I think the government has any interest in a nobody like me, but the mandatory Kinect plugin is still the main deal-breaker for me on the XB1.
Sony: 9/10
Microsoft: 7/10
EA: 7/10
Ubisoft: 6/10
Nintendo: Unwatchable/10
Biggest one I can remember in all my years of watching. They nearly gave him a standing ovation.
Sony by a mile. They were pretty close until Sony dropped all the anti-DRM bombs and the lower price tag. Game over after that. Xbox, go home.
I expect a lot of multiplats meant to look like exclusives.
It's not "yay Microsoft, here's your ban". The mods look at the marketing company email they registered with and the talking points the users with said email addresses are all using.
Like when they found a person with an @microsoft email address bashing GT5 and praising Forza, under the guise of being a regular guy with no skin in the game.
You're terminally naive if you don't think companies do this kind of thing.
NeoGAF has been on a Microsoft plant banning spree over the past week. If they're on NeoGAF, with GAF's difficult registration process, they're everywhere. Especially Reddit.
Nothing new. Microsoft's business model has always been about buying appearance rather than delivering substance. If they used even half of their dirty PR budget for building up development studios instead, they probably would have already surpassed Sony's 1st-party studio roster.
Even with an amazing connection, which the vast majority of people in America and abroad don't have, it's a pipe dream at best. The slightest bit of latency would botch the whole thing.
I keep hearing that Microsoft is trying to "drag us kicking and screaming into the future". If that's true, they're dragging the wrong people. The infrastructure to accommodate stable mass market cloud processing isn't there yet. They need to drag ISPs into their ...
That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. The two aren't even in the same galaxy, let alone ballpark.
Things like this really make me disgusted with the industry. For Sony to buckle under such idiocy from a hypocrite like Adam Sessler, is beyond pathetic. Not only has he completely discredited himself as a "journalist" for docking review points over something so meaningless, but everybody involved should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to even be a thing that is being talked about.
What about Fuse? What did EA partnership do for that game, besides the 12 year-old focus group?
