I really hope this remake has turn-based menu battles like the original but it probably won't.
It's definitely one of the better ones, but that's subjective of course. By all means try the original part 7. It still holds up well for the most part. I do have issues with the translation though.
@scruffy
They would pretty much have to release Shenmue 1 and 2 on PS4 prior to releasing part 3, otherwise Shenmue 3 would only appeal to a VERY small, niche crowd who played the original on Dreamcast and part 2 on Xbox. I can't imagine many gamers have played the first 2. I missed out on them, but now I want to try them and see what all the fuss is about. I wouldn't want part 3 to be my first Shenmue game.
I think Activision owns it at the moment.
Actually, Nintendo has stated they'll release more dlc and updates for this game.
Proper battle tracks, maybe challenges similar to the ones on the DS version, and the ability to adjust music and sound effects volume would be nice.
This should have been the definitive version of this game at release, and it should have shipped on disc even for $5 more. Sony, as publisher, should have delayed this until the devs finished it. This nasty trend of releasing unfinished games and patching them later is going to seriously damage customer confidence and the industry in general. It could even lead to another gaming market crash if it gets too out-of-hand.
Sony published this port, meaning Sony is responsible for making sure it is released at acceptable quality standards, as any publisher is responsible for the quality of whatever they release.
It's highly subjective. The series high-points are 4, 6, 7, and 9 imo. I'd say start with one of those. Just avoid 13 unless you enjoy awfulness in games.
The best of the trilogy, and easily in my top 10 all-time best platformers. It also has one of the best gaming soundtracks ever.
As nice as it would be to get a Bloodborne sequel, I'd kind of prefer a Demon's Souls sequel.
No, Yoshi's Island DS is a different game than Yoshi's Island: Super Mario World 2 on the SNES. You and the podcaster in this video seem to be under the impression that Yoshi's Island DS is some sort of altered port of the SNES Yoshi's Island. That is not the case. They are 2 different games.
There is no SNES version of Yoshi's Island DS. There is only the original DS version and now this Wii U port.
This is a great action game, though I'd rank Bayonetta 2 a bit higher. As a PS4 and Wii U owner, I'm glad I can play both.
Wow, they really disliked it.
These dlc tracks are great but Nintendo really should create some proper battle mode tracks, even if they're all from previous games. I'm surprised they haven't done this yet considering battle mode was universally panned even in the highest reviews.
The memory cards surely were a big factor in Vita's failure. The few times I was tempted to buy a Vita, the price of the memory cards always turned me away. Splitting the Vita into two essential components; the hardware itself, and the expensive memory cards was a shady way of artificially inflating the Vita's actual cost while giving the perception it was only $250 (at launch). More like $350 if you wanted a decent memory card.
Take note scalpers.
You just have to shop around for deals. I got my PS4 copy on sale for $39.99 at Fry's a few weeks ago.
That's also my top 3 with 9 being my favorite.
